33 Fg%, 56% ft
Getting exposed in the NBA. Should have stayed another 2 years in college to develop some fundamentals to the game.

Definitely should have given Duke another year. Ah well :confusedshrug:
Hes never exposed, hes just this bad and everyone knows it.
SAS and Skip sure didn't know it...
those are some ugly stats for somebody who plays as much as he does.
maybe he can pick it up towards the end of the season.
There was an article a couple weeks ago on ESPN showing that he was on pace to have the worst season ever for a rookie.
Austin Rivers and Jabari Parker.....
2014 CHAMPS
ONLY A DREAM
Until he learns how to drive left, he won't do anything in the NBA.
There was an article a couple weeks ago on ESPN showing that he was on pace to have the worst season ever for a rookie.
I believe it was just the worst season ever. rookie or not
This is the problem with players rushing their way to the NBA.
I stand corrected.

his free throws are just horrendous, and he's a friggin guard...
He has a flawed jumpshot form, bad court vision, and can't go left or finish with his left hand. He's a pickup game kobe with a famous daddy
He has the mindset in him where he could take this as a challenge and become a serviceable role player. But for now, he is quite shitty for a lottery pick.

Staying in school after being projected as a top 10 pick makes no sense, ready or not.
i told y'all he'd bust.
Hes never exposed, hes just this bad and everyone knows it.
Seriously. I wasn't even on this kid's hype train when he was in HS. I always knew he'd struggle in the league.
He has the mindset in him where he could take this as a challenge and become a serviceable role player. But for now, he is quite shitty for a lottery pick.
Lol, his mindset is more like He can be Kobe, role player, forget about it. N1gga's whole life is about be the man take the shots and tear it up.
Check his draft express:
Selfish, does not know how to play team, shot selection problem. all these are like Kobe monta Jennings traits, its ok can be good player still but then
+ PHYSICAL WEAKNESS what the hell, if you are a gunner you better be a freak of nature coz without it you are a terrible combination of a player traits.
Guess Doc's got it, rich good pay good role player marry a white chick, too bad Austin has to pay for the price, got mom's beauty and weak physic.

Yeah, he sucks. This isn't news. He's a scrub. Nobody would give half a shit about this bum if he wasn't Doc's son.

Yep this exactly.

That is the reason I think he can, meaning if he takes it like Kobe does and works his ass off (and I imagine his dad could give him such advice too). I'm in no way predicting that Rivers will be good, I'm just saying there is still a chance.

I dun know man, he seems weak mentally and have bad body language. Do you think Kobe after miss a few throws will slap his hand and gash and shrinked. He was shooting around 70% now 56% its a mental block. Cannot shoot FT was not on his scouting report, its developed.
I thought he was exposed in college let alone the NBA, dude just sucks he got in cause of the last name not cause of his game.
Guy is so undersized its absurd.
Literally looks like a high schooler out there
Baby face....not one muscle in his body...just looks young and timid out there
Hes never exposed, hes just this bad and everyone knows it.
Yeah cuz NOLA really knew their lottery pick was not up to snuff.

Why pay Gordon and draft Rivers? It just doesn't make sense.

Gordo. doesnt want to be there.
Rivers seemed like a good prospect.....maybe hell pan out.
Smh at dismissing a guy before he can buy a drink.

He probably shouldn't have been a lottery pick, and most certainly not a top 10 pick. No idea why the Hornets were so high on him. Instead they got Antony Davis and arguably the worst rotation player in the league. Granted, he's a rookie so it's not all gloom-and-doom but, other than that 27 point game, he's been terrible.
He may be the worst player in the NBA right now. His PER is currently 5.8 (and declining) and his FG%, FT%, and Per 36 min numbers are absolutely terrible.
However, because he's only 20, I'll give him two more seasons to prove himself before classifying him as a bust.

lol 5.8
There is still to exposed on this dude?
We are all aware already on what he's not capable to do on this league :lol
I don't get it... He's aight on 2k
Rivers will be a top 10 shooting guard within 3 years.
His instincts are absolutely fine. The thing is that his shots are not falling. There is reason he is still getting playtime and shots, coaches see his ability to play and improve. Once his shots comes back, 99% of this board will look like retards.
Writing off a rookie is so stupid.
I agree he sucks right now and has a very good chance of sucking his entire career, but what has anyone drafted after him done. The 2012 draft was very top heavy. Heck T-Rob is averaging like 4 and 4 and I don't see any threads on him? Rivers is getting so much publicity because his name is Rivers. Who should have the Hornets taken instead of Rivers? Not many players outside the top 10 aside from Sullinger (of late), Zeller, Nicholson, and Ezeli have done much of anything.

I have ripped him numerous times for his lack of effort until recently

Ezeli is providing tough D for one of the best teams in the NBA, Sullinger has been going beast mode lately, Zeller provides solid mins at the C spot and I have yet to see much of Nicholson but I have no doubt hes better.
The problem with the T-Rob/Rivers picks is that they made zero sense to both teams in the short term, the Kings re-signed Thompson and added Hayes and the Hornet have Gorden and Henry (who imo is better than Rivers).

Henry is downright awful BTW. I'm sure the Hornets had no idea Vazquez would be beasting like his has. If they could redo the draft, I'm sure they would've went in another direction.
I think Rivers is the one player who Ish as a whole, had extremely low expectations for this year
