Why is it big news when a player says hes better or the best?

Yeah Steph Curry said hes better on offense than LeBron, and KD35 says he scores better than anybody.
Isin't that what youre supposed to say?

When I play ball in the gym I believe I'm the best player out there I want to win the game so why is it big news.

What's wrong with us calling out false statements?

It's not a big deal to me, I pretty much expect any elite player to think he's the best.

I still think it's funny though when some of them are that delusional.

For instance, in the Dream Team book, Drexler, many years later, was still claiming that Jordan was not better than him.
