Al Jefferson makes 2013-14 All-NBA Third Team

The NBA announced today that Charlotte Hornets center Al Jefferson has been selected to the All-NBA Third Team. Jefferson received four First Team votes, 44 Second Team votes and 39 Third Team votes from a panel of 125 sportswriters and broadcasters throughout the United States and Canada who voted for All-NBA First, Second and Third Teams by position with points awarded on a 5-3-1 basis.

This marks the first time earning All-NBA honors for Jefferson, who averaged team highs of 21.8 points and 10.8 rebounds during the 2013-14 season while leading the team to a 22-win increase from the previous season. He was the only player in the Eastern Conference and one of only five players in the NBA to average over 20.0 points and 10.0 rebounds. He finished the season ranked eighth in the NBA in rebounding, 11th in scoring, 23rd in field goal percentage (.509), 29th in blocks (1.1) and tied for 30th in minutes played (35.0).
