PP from KG
I'm in the very large minority that believes Ray Ray should have won that year.
Broke the NBA Finals record for threes made(at the time) with 22 while averaging 20.3/5.0/2.5 on 50/52/87 percentages.
Averaged more boards, more steals, more blocks, less turnovers than Pierce, and did a great job defending Bryant even though he wasn't the only one tasked with it, he was the most effective IMO. He even held Bryant scoreless for the entire first half of Game 4.

Re: Naming NBA players who stole a Finals MVP from their teammate
Parker from Duncan.
Pierce from KG.
-
Re: Naming NBA players who stole a Finals MVP from their teammate
Kobe stole Shaq's Finals MVP in 2004. Refused to be a good lil sidekick, and selfishly chucked the team out of the series.
-
Re: Naming NBA players who stole a Finals MVP from their teammate
Kobe stealing Shaq's MVP. He wasn't good enough to be Detroit as the man like LeBron or Wade were able to.
-
Re: Naming NBA players who stole a Finals MVP from their teammate
2013 Lebron stole the Finals MVP from Ray Allen

Just like LeBron and Wade weren't good enough to beat the Celtics as the man so they teamed up to do it.
Arguably the biggest disgrace and insult to competitive sports of all time.

Lebron beat the Celtics twice as the man. Wade was in his team, but Lebron was the man. Your statement is false.

Gasol in 2010. PP over KG.

Nah. LeBron got his dick pushed in by the Celtics in '08. Then he quit on his team against them in '10.
Wade got waxed in 5 by the Celtics in '10. Hell, n!gga couldn't even beat the f*cking Hawks as the man.
Then they said f*ck it, we can't win, and joined up to beat them. Those are the facts, bruh. Deal with it.

Lebron couldnt beat them with his scrub teammates, but he beat them with a respectable team. WHen he beat them ( twice), he was ''the man''.

what about maxwell bird 1981

Re: Naming NBA players who stole a Finals MVP from their teammate
Jerry West from anyone on the actual championship winning Celtics in 1969.
Willis Reed from Walt Frazier in 1970.
Magic from Kareem in 1980.

lebron stealing Wade's FMVP in 2011 from Wade. Singlehandedly sabotaged the finals by having the worst choke job of all time by any star NBA player.

How does one go about stealing an award like that? It's not like he voted for himself. He had no control over the vote other than to play

I agree that Kareem should have won it in '80 over magic.
But I would not say he stole it. Nothing wrong with him getting it

Re: Naming NBA players who stole a Finals MVP from their teammate
The only 2x instances of this I can think of came in recent years:
Pau Gasol stole Kobe's 2008 Fmvp by not showing up
LeBron James stole Wade's 2011 Fmvp by not showing up

Your not the only one...in fact back when everything was going on I dont really remember k.g being mentioned as a finals mvp candidate as much as allen or pierce...it seemed as it was between those two pretty much all the way

Re: Naming NBA players who stole a Finals MVP from their teammate
Kobe from Gasol twice (09, 10). Pierce from KG in 08. Also Parker from Duncan in 07.

Gasol performed better in 2008 than Kobe did in 08 and Gasol was going up against near prime KG. Gasol also performed better in 09, 10 finals than Kobe as well.

2011 ECSF vs Bos

Wade: 30 ppg, 5 apg, 7 rpg 53% 2spg

Really? Look when you registered here.
Pau Gasol was on a milk carton in the 2008 Finals. Part of the reason Kobe struggled so much that series, besides flaws in his approach.
Watching LeBron in the 2011 Finals, particularly in 4th quarters was like trying to play "Where's Waldo?"
Honestly, we know you don't know what you're talking about here.

Re: Naming NBA players who stole a Finals MVP from their teammate
Agreed. Rodman was a beast in that series
Shawn Kemp's 1996 NBA Finals averages vs Rodman:
23.3 points on 55% shooting from the field, 10.0 rebounds and 2 blocks.
Dennis was very good, but don't get it twisted--MJ earned that MVP, as he did his 5 other Finals MVPs.
