Anyone tried out Ballstreams?
http://www.ballstreams.com/
it's like a streaming site that you pay for. the quality is better than LP. I could definitely scrap together 60 bucks for the whole NBA season. They have a preview on the site and it worked well for me too. No blackouts either. Only thing I'm worried about is if the NBA finds out and they shut it down. Apparently their current workaround is:
so apparently they operate out of the Netherlands and their workaround is that they aren't bound by NBA copyright in their jurisdiction.
Re: Anyone tried out Ballstreams?
The Netherlands represent

Re: Anyone tried out Ballstreams?
Sounds good man, but I already forked out a heap of money for a broadband package here in OZ...
I'll have to settle for online bad quality streams :(

Re: Anyone tried out Ballstreams?
Just download all the games in full HD here - http://pastebin.com/u/kcplayoffs
I use this service - http://real-debrid.com/?id=567848 - to download at high speeds (10 Mbps for me) for only around $3/mo.
Only drawback is it's a few hours delay (or sometimes one day delay).
You can also download NFL games using the above service - http://pastebin.com/u/reborn4HD-nfl
There's also one for soccer (both MLS and Euro), MLB, NHL, WWE, and other sports so all-in-one for just $3/mo instead of just for basketball.

i'm not 100% sold yet. I guess you wouldn't be shut down since you don't live in the U.S. but for me i don't want to drop 60 for a season then be shut out y'know?s

Re: Anyone tried out Ballstreams?
Here is their return policy. There's some posts below the page from the Admin as well...
http://www.ballstreams.com/support/categories/1/announcements/4091/Refund+Policy
...although you can't believe what they say someone asked if the site gets taken down do we get our refunds back and he said yes although it's a "silly concern".

Re: Anyone tried out Ballstreams?
How is the streaming, guys?

Re: Anyone tried out Ballstreams?
How is the streaming, guys?
So far streaming the Wizards/Bulls game seemlessly at 3200kbps.
I seemingly had to add an IP exception for the IP was using. Otherwise you just get a constantly loading circle on the flash player. There's a decent help section to help with flash problems as well.
So far seems worth it. I paid for a week, so for anyone thinking of it of getting it, watch this thread and I'll post my results daily.
So far the the quality you can pick...
Auto
800kbps (SD)
3200kbps (HD)
...also there's a Game Chat right there on the screen too, but that is not working right now.

Re: Anyone tried out Ballstreams?
To you give you an idea of the smoothness, the player functions very similar to 1080p on the YouTube players. The Bulls game is coming from Comcast Sportsnet, which I think is a local Chicago maybe? Stacy King was on the commentary panel at half time.
-
Re: Anyone tried out Ballstreams?
So would you say worth it?
-
Re: Anyone tried out Ballstreams?
The Bulls game is super-wierd because they're playing in Rio, but the American commentators are in Chicago calling the game. :lol

Re: Anyone tried out Ballstreams?

So far watching the first half of the game? Yes. But I would wait at least 1 day to see how the other games stream.

Okay, cool. I'm probably going to buy the 6 month package then.

Re: Anyone tried out Ballstreams?
its good for me. as long as you have a descent computer it should be for you aswell. i dont know about buying a long term deal with them untill they give you a good enough reason that they wont get taken down by the nba. then again the other free sites that switched to .eu havent been taken down.
-
Re: Anyone tried out Ballstreams?
I wonder how they're able to do this or how they set it up? All these HD streams and such.

Well, on their return policy it states that if they were taken down they'd give full refunds. Not sure if it's true or not, but they do state that on the website itself. Also if you buy anything longer than 1 day you can get a full refund minus a 5-10% fee within 48 hours.

Does that return policy really hold any merit though?
-
Re: Anyone tried out Ballstreams?
FYI when you stream live there's a button above the video that says "Flash Live" next to it is "Flash DVR" and you can literally click on that and watch the game from the beginning. It's basically real-time archive.

This shit sounds better than LP...

No, but at least they state something on their site. :confusedshrug:
Much better than someone on ISH just taking people's money and cutting the service off totally.
-

i would take their word for it.
-
Re: Anyone tried out Ballstreams?

The game has 5 minutes left in it and I clicked on Flash DVR and started it from the beginning of the game.
-
Re: Anyone tried out Ballstreams?
Also you can pause the live stream while you're watching it and resume.
Also Wizard Dance team on the floor dancing to Brazilian music.

Re: Anyone tried out Ballstreams?
Going to check out Knicks @ Celtics game after Bulls.
-
Re: Anyone tried out Ballstreams?
Is there a support email I can go to directly to ask them?

Re: Anyone tried out Ballstreams?

How is it better? LP (at least ILP) can pause (live games), start from the beginning, etc.
-
Re: Anyone tried out Ballstreams?
How is it better? LP (at least ILP) can pause (live games), start from the beginning, etc.
the quality is better and no blackouts
-
Re: Anyone tried out Ballstreams?

No email. They have a public FAQ and a ticket submission. You can register an account for free without giving any information as far as a credit card is concerned.
When the Knicks @ Boston game came on it was streaming from NBA LP, then it cut off on LP becuase it says the game is blacked out, then whatever source it's coming from says "GameSearch Found, your game was found on channel 627-1" and they switched it to that channel.
-
Re: Anyone tried out Ballstreams?

Well there's an example right now. The Knicks @ Celtics game is blacked out on LP apparently at this very moment. But I'ms streaming it in full HD quality of this site from the MSG local New York channel.

Re: Anyone tried out Ballstreams?
So they are based in the Netherlands, yet the only way to pay is either Visa- or MasterCard. I don't have a damn Credit Card.
