I seriously have a problem when it comes to these games. I still play Civ 5 exclusively and will find myself up until 2am on weekdays, then work sucks and I say never again, then I repeat this process. I don't know what it is, but world domination is quite satisfying to me.
So far the game seems great. Its definitely feels a lot more complex than civ 5, planning out your districts makes the difference between a mediocre city and a beastly one. the attention to detail is fantastic- the general aesthetics of the map, the soundtrack and sound effects, the fact that they got sean bean to do all the voice overs...it all feels very well polished.
I basically only have 2 complaints - the AI is completely ****ing retarded sometimes, and my first play thru kept crashing whenever i tried to research a certain policy
After playing this game a lot, I do not like it. I'm going back to Civ 5 until corrections are made. The AI is beyond dumb and seems incapable of researching techs at a decent rate. I can get an era or two ahead of all AI before 1700 AD without even trying.
Too easy. I usually play a notch above Prince (normal) difficulty. I can up the difficulty, but the difficulty is artificial and just gives the AI bonuses without improving their abilities in any way. The graphics are also just ugly and the game runs faster on my computer than Civ 5 does, which doesn't seem right.
yeah they definitely need to improve the AI and nerf some stuff. civ 5 was full of huge flaws at release and they managed to fix it over time, so I have faith they can make things right.
Is Civ online against other people? I know nothing about it despite many similar games being my favorites.
I love RTS but I've never played any of the Civs.

online is against other people, but its not a RTS. its turn based and fairly slow placed.

Like Europa Univeralis? That's one of my favorite games.

yeah it has a lot in common with europa universalis
the older but still excellent civ 5 should be on sale for like $5 or $10 on steam pretty soon thanks to the holiday season, i would recommend buying that and seeing if you like it.
Cool. Was looking into deals this week. Would like to grab some combination of City Skylines, Civ 5/6, Overwatch, and BF1.

Yeah, I wish I had more time, but my pc/guild/friends have been ragging on me to get it for a month now. Might have to finally break down.
Skylines just went on sale for 7.75 on Steam. Me and my nephew should enjoy it.
looks like civ 5 + all the expansions and dlc is currently $4.50 too :oldlol:
I'm a fan of the Civ series but stopped playing after IV. The nostalgia of the original and 2 were the highlights for me. I think I enjoyed the SimCity franchise more, however.
