May 14th
Him wanting to sign as early as possible is a good indication.
Deron Lands in Russia!
Now, Deron visiting Moscow! With Prok, thats great news that he is partying with Nets Management. Sounds like a guy who wants to leave? I dont think so
So far all the articles state he is leaning to stay.
Good idea. So far looking good!!

New Interesting quote from Deron, updated in the Op.
Hmm. Rumors swirling around about Gasol for Williams. But thankfully they were already shot down. I also so somewhere about William's not seeing the longevity in Dallas. So who knows.

The Laker rumors were dumb anyway.
That Dallas thing seems interesting, cant find an article for it though.
So apparently the Mavs are backing out of the Deron Sweepstakes?

Not backing out, they still will try to make a pitch for him, though their are some concerns that they believe Deron is likely to Sign with Nets
Deron is gonna meet with the Nets and Mavs on Monday thoughts?

nice work on this thread. repped.
i do tend to think that deron really appreciates how much the nets have wanted him, have included him in team decisions, and i think he's genuinely stoked about playing at barclays. tough decision for him, but i would think the excitement and feel-good factor is slightly higher for him staying with the nets.
also, as we learned very late in the season, dwight really did want to be traded to the nets all along. it was only otis smith forcing him to choose between being kobe's sidekick or opting in at the trade deadline that kept him in orlando. that's a huge positive factor for d-will staying with the nets IMO.
Looks like Deron is staying, hopefully Kidd returns too and ends his career as a Net. This is where his jersey will be retired after all.
Renamed Free Agency thread because Deron is back:banana: .
Derek Fisher possible a Net
Whether or not they trade for Dwight Howard, the Nets are in the market for a back-up point guard at a cheap price. Thursday night, Howard Beck is reporting that Derek Fisher is considering Brooklyn among other teams.
Gerald Green Gone?
Unless Bobby Marks knows something Larry Coon doesn't know (and that's always possible) or Green is incredibly loyal to the Nets, it's increasingly unlikely that Gerald Green will be back, says Devin Kharpertian of Nets Are Scorching. The fan favorite got caught up in a numbers game.
Coon, the CBA expert for ESPN and HoopsWorld, helped Kharpertian look into the options the Nets have to sign the 6'8" 26-year-old. To start his Bird Rights are limited. The Nets will be capped out. They can't use the Mid-Level Exception or Bi-Annual Exception since it would risk the imposition of the hard cap (and lose flexibility to pursue Dwight Howard.) That leaves a paltry $1.2 million vets exception + 20%, a fraction of what Green is likely worth.
I really wanted Green to re sign with us. He was an excellent late season pick up for us and he's extremely loyal to us (saying time and time again that he would take a pay cut for us). Hopefully they can figure something out.
As for D-Fish, I don't mind it. We can never use enough Leadership/Veterans on this team and D-Fish definitely has that. He pumped up the Thunder multiple times in there run in the playoffs this year. He can also come in and hit big shots if D-Will is ever in foul trouble.
