Chris Nolan / Zack Snyder "MAN OF STEEL"
We go from gay director Bryan Singer and his boring, lifeless, emo Superman

Re: Chris Nolan / Zack Snyder "MAN OF STEEL"
Why has every Superman since Christopher Reeve (excluding Tom Welling) looked mexican or south american?

Have you seen Henry Cavill? He's as white boy as it gets. So is Brandon Routh.

Re: Chris Nolan / Zack Snyder "MAN OF STEEL"
why can't we cut the bs and get tom welling to do it? 6'3 m'fer with blue eyes that will make anyone fall in love with him. he actually physically resembles comic book superman...and he played it good in smallville.

I was not a Superman fan before him. He should be the one and only person to play that role until he's too old. He's perfect. Those other guys posted look too foreign for me.

Cavill will have blue eyes. And he's a WAY superior actor to Welling. Welling was just a model when he got casted on a terribly acted teen soap opera. Cavill resembles Superman, too. Specifically Jim Lee's take on Superman

given that we are on a basketball forum, we need some stats breh'
Tom Motherf*cking Welling:
6'3(don't go sir charles on me and start posting pics to find actual height)
~200, haven't seen him recently but the guy is built, looks to be over 2 and some change, low bf%

And Welling got in great shape for Man of Steel. You can see it in the picture.
And it's not just about the physicality of the role.
Superman has to be acted well. Welling can't act his way out of a paper bag.
That's why he gets no work, bro. Stuck on a terrible teen soap opera for ten years.
Superman isn't just about being a big dude, in great shape. You have to be regal, noble, etc

i'm very glad chris nolan is involved though. dark knight has been veyr good.

Re: Chris Nolan / Zack Snyder "MAN OF STEEL"
But what colour are they going to make his underwear? I MUST KNOW!!!
-
Re: Chris Nolan / Zack Snyder "MAN OF STEEL"
I think superman as a character needs a redesign..the suit still doesn't sit well in 2011, tights and underwear on the outside.
In that picture, I'm not feeling that,....like I always said the new Superman always will be failed. They tried to hard to do reboot because of The Dark Knight so now they wanna try do little bit dark and shit wouldn't work for Superman or Spiderman.
Christopher Reeve was the best Superman, he's SUPERMAN...

Well, I was talking about the movie...did you see the picture they leak, I don't feel it.
Honestly, I don't give a shit about Superman cause he's very corny to me than any superheros in comic-book. Superman is very boring character to me.
I still said I do think they need to do a redesign for Superman. You seen the X-Men movies didn't follow the X-Men comics costume, etc and they did the right thing.

The new one doesn't have the "undies" ... that is literally the only thing that needed to be axed from the design. It's corny w/ them, it's legit w/o ... new suit looks nice to me.

That's one reason why Smallville worked as long as it did. He didn't wear a costume. Dude had jeans, blue (or red) shirt, and a blue (or red) jacket.
The new movie should go with something like these

But the last four or five seasons were pretty weak, no doubt at all that the last two seasons of it were garbage. I only kept watching to see where the hell it was going.
-
Re: Chris Nolan / Zack Snyder "MAN OF STEEL"
hopefully this is not another origins of superman movie. i am tired of seeing how superman was born and sent to earth and grew up with these powers. we all know that. just move the fck on!

It looks like that mesh that warriors in medieval times would wear under their armor. Or kinda carbon-fiber-ish.

Re: Chris Nolan / Zack Snyder "MAN OF STEEL"
I never liked Superman, always thought he was one of the weakest characters of the top-tier comic book list. That said I loved the Reeves movies. They were great. But since then the best thing I've seen done with Superman in other media is the animated Crisis on Two Earths movie.
I'm not too confident in this breaking that streak. It's just hard to do.
-
Re: Chris Nolan / Zack Snyder "MAN OF STEEL"
if snyder go's full on negative and gore, like he did with watchmen. i can just about condone this. nolan tho, continues to sink in relevance

Re: Chris Nolan / Zack Snyder "MAN OF STEEL"
how many times can they reboot the same old ****ing comic book story? as long as people keep eating it up i guess

Technically there was never a reboot.
There was the original Superman with Reeves that had 3 sequels. Then there was that quasi- sequel (it follows up after Superman 2) with Routh many years late.
This is the first "reboot." And just like with the Spiderman and Batman reboots, they've changed the stories/villians. Superman faces Zod in this, in the original Superman faced Lex Luther (and then Zod in #2).
I'm very much looking forward to this, although they can't expect to make it dark because that does not work with Superman. It's like if you look up all that Tim Burton Superman stuff with Nic Cage. That movies was into production they had the story, the costumes, the cast, etc. Imagine if that got made. It's actually really cool to look at all that stuff that never became a movie, but it makes you think what that movie would've been like and if we would've ever thought of Superman the same way.

FU**ING EPIC. Marvel simply cannot fu** with the deep, sorrow filled plots of the DC universe and nobody can fu** with Nolan when it comes to making Superhero movies. This trailer debuted yesterday or day before and was only shown in DKR showings.

To be honest, the only thing DC has on Marvel is Batman. Marvel has much better superheroes and is a better company.

Naw... the stories and plots of Superman are just as good as Batman IMO. Besides Superman and Batman are the two most popular superheroes of all time. I just don't see the same depth in origins and story when I look at Marvel... nor the same uniqueness.

I'm pretty sure Marvel's characters are more "realistic" than DC's because of their major character flaws.
It'll be interesting to see if Nolan/Snyder can pull of the dark Superman considering he's the perfect person. Not hating on the movie at all, I'm looking forward to this more than any other movie coming out... but I'm a little worried.

When Nolan is involved he's proven there is nothing to be worried about. May not be Batman good but it will be a great movie. I'm not even as big of a Superman fan as many others and I'm pumped as fu**, even more so now after this trailer. People don't realize Superman is the most popular superhero ever. Just because previous movies didn't do him justice doesn't mean he sucks. He has one of the most interesting and unique origins of any superhero/villain.

Re: Chris Nolan / Zack Snyder "MAN OF STEEL"
Melo... generally speaking I agree Marvel makes their characters more "realistic" in the sense that they have more real world problems and are more related to the average Joe... but that doesn't make it any better IMO. Plus the fact that this dude is crab fishing in the trailer and hitchhiking proves that Nolan is going to break him down the way he did Batman Begins. He's going to show us his more human, humble beginnings side.

I hope so. I get the feeling it's gonna be more like Superman struggling to fit in with humans (along with the whole Zod thing) which if done right would be a great, fresh turn.
