And yes, i'm making this thread because of Jballer. :oldlol: I would like to just bump the other 4-5 threads where he has 10 teams definitely a ahead of us but i'd rather just keep it simple and have a prediction thread of the EC standings.

That's my official prediction but I really feel like 1-6 is pretty solid, it may not end up in that order but I feel strongly that those will be the top 6 teams in the EC. But then 7-13 i'm pretty unsure about because all of those teams have a lot of questions so we'll see what happens.

Re: 2012-13 EC predictions (before the season starts)
Interesting. I don't have a problem with those picks except for Chicago at 3 without Rose until March. I don't see that happening at all.

I actually struggle with 9 through 12.
I feel solid on Washington making the playoffs - though other disagree here. Talent - experience - and an improvement to middling defence much like the Raptors were able to accomplish last year will move them up. Walls turnovers are a combination of "lacking talent to pass too", "trying to do too much on his own" and "sophmore jinx". With Nene / Okafur in the low post - lots of pick and rolls for Wall. Beal doesnt need to do much more than float to the open spot, stoke a wide open bucket or 5 or 10, and learn to play some dedicated D against guys that want to school him. The last will be hardest.
Toronto and Detroit - so much depends on deliverence of "upside" in multiple players - even moreso than other teams in the conference with rookies. Demar Derozan and Brandon Knight. Val and Drummond. The big men need to show up and also "get the calls from the refs in their favor" not just against them. Both have big men options that can score - Barges/Monroe.
Toronto should be ahead because KLow is a proven PG even though Tay is a proven swingman. Tay is older than Jesus - Klow is in his prime.
Both have cap (Detroit if it amnesties Charile V next year) and both will be interesting to see how they develop over the next 2 years.
Both teams will knock down a number of teams from above once the talent is proven or another player is added. Note most of the teams above have no cap room for 3+ years ! (Atlanta could have if they blow everyone off roster).
Should award points for this end of season

I have to admit, this was one of the offseasons that I haven't followed very closely, and some teams could be out of place based on moves I am unaware of.

Re: 2012-13 EC regular season prediction game
I'm still not seeing what you're seeing. That's not a significantly better team than ours.
Re: 2012-13 EC regular season prediction game
My memory is hazey, can someone please tell me why Chicago wouldn't be struggling to make the playoffs? How long is rose out for? What offseason moves did they make?
I'm also thinking we can finish ahead of ATL and the bucks.
Miami - obvious
Boston - lost ray, but have jet and Avery coming back from injury
Indy - will win the central with rose being injured
Brooklyn - a lot of talent, injuries will play a role due to thin roster
Philly - could finish ahead of the nets, I feel their success will depend on turner
NY - too much talent to finish lower, but not enough to beat Brooklyn due to dwill facilitating vs melo hindering the offense. Philly should have better chemistry and will have Bynum anchoring an already stiffling defense
Chicago - if rose comes back early enough, they will still make the post season. The rest of the team will need to hold it down, and deng possibly skipping the wrist surgery could be a bad decision.
Washington - wall was supposed to explode last year. I think his breakout will be this year with a regular schedule and training camp.
Toronto - I think they will finish just shy of the playoffs.
Don't really feel like thinking the rest of the EC standings...

I BEEN saying this. I don't know if people just believe this team without Rose is much better than I think it is, but Rose is likely out for most of the season. The reports have been out that he is out until late March. The regular season ends in April, so best case scenario they probably get 10-15 games out of him. And he's not gonna come in as MVP Rose right away either.

10-15 im really not too sure, i think it could be a jumpball
8/9 could be interchangeable, I think Milwaukee has a slight edge on Atlanta in terms of their backcourt but Atlanta still has the more talented frontcourt
5-7 to me are very fluid depending on how Chicago does without Rose and how well the Knicks do in general
I think 1-4 is pretty much set, the only question mark being philly but I really think the trade makes them a much more dangerous team. They now have a deep post threat as opposed to last year, and evan turner and jrue holiday look to be turning the corner in terms of their development
Indiana to me is the sleeper even though I have them at 2, they really should be in the ECF when all is said and done.

Chicago bulls record without derek rose 18-9

they only really need him for the post-season.
