Congratulations, Kwahi! Financial security for you and yours for the rest of your life - invest wisely.
Great deal for the Spurs - when this contract is done, he'll still be in his prime (just turned 29). Hope he's a lifelong Spur.
Smart move to stay in the system that made him. Anywhere else he would just get exposed.

I agree that offensively he would have not been as successful as with the Spurs (Spurs shooting coach Chip Engelland fixed his stroke) but his defensive skills (wide wingspan, huge hands, athleticism) would carry over anywhere else. I bet you would love to have him on your favorite team and then not imply that he's a system player.

:lol
Kawhi would be stupid to accept a 15-17 mill deal he'll regret it in a couple of years.
great deal for the Spurs tho they look like the favourites now in the LMA sweepstakes.
he needs to shave his head, AI is the only guy who ever made the leap with cornrows
He's won a FMVP, championship, DPOY with them.
Basically already gotten further than Iverson teamwise.
Cheers
Told you guys...

How is it that all these Spur players are taking paycuts and it seems like no one else in the nba does the same....something definitely smells and its coming from San Antonio.

Dude has a ring, finals MVP in which he shat on Bron, and now gets a max contract. He's way past made it.

Yeah, its called proper team spirit, something the NBA severely lacks

I think it's the case that the players know it's a first rate organization - that they take care of theirs. See it from Leonard's point of view - drafted at #15 - follow the guidance of Pop, Duncan, Chip Engelland - end up with a FMVP and DPOY award at age 23. All that while playing LOW minutes, pretty much pressure-free environment (because he plays with the big 3), doesn't have to lead, can grow/develop at his own pace and look forward to eventually leading the team and having a long career. Good front office to put pieces around/beside him so they can contend for a long time.
Nobody's forced Duncan, Parker and Manu to take less.
