I doubt he plays this year.
I doubt he plays this year.
I wish he would, but I'm with you in believing he won't.
I'm really starting to question this kid's heart, toughness, and competitive spirit.
I'm all for returning when your body is ready. For the softer mental person they need to be re-assured mentally, but you don't get that until you actually go out there in serious competition.
And even then, you still won't be 100 percent for awhile, but it's the necessary step to get back on top of your game.
MJ was itching to get back after his broken foot. Obviously an injury not near as bad as an ACL tear (thanks Adidas !!!) ... but you couldn't keep him off the court. He was playing before being authorized by doctors. Schooling college kids at UNC getting back in shape.
The will to play and compete was too strong to deny. Even bodily harm was disregarded. THAT'S a warrior.
Hell, I fractured my ankle in 2010, I tried playing on it in competition just a few weeks after a some therapy sessions thinking I could give it a go, because I didn't want to stop playing. I couldn't even move laterally, but I was trying and itching to get back there.
I'm feeling like Rose doesn't have this in him. And it's becoming alarming.
He's mentally scarred & I understand that but at this point its pretty silly to still not be playing.
he is scared mentally. physically he looks fine. but he knows he's just going to get humiliated by lebron again like in the 2011 ecf.
if rose had westbrook's courage he would be great but he doesn't.

If Westbrook has Rose's basketball intelligence, humble-ness, coach ability, feel for the game ...
He'd be an actual PG, and OKC could legitimately beat the Heat. But neither case is true, so it's whatever.

westbrook is not the reason why they can't beat the heat. okc can't beat the heat cause the heat are just a better version of them and also because scott brooks is a dumbass. if you are going to be less talented than the other team then you better outcoach them. the thunder are less talented and have an even worse coach and that just spells disaster.

Basically this. Money stop acting like Rose/Paul would put OKC over Miami when their biggest threats are Lebron/Bosh. And for that you need Tyson Chandler/Noah+Marion/Prince.

Rose and Paul both would be better fits for the OKC team. Stop acting like Westbrook is some transcendent talent that makes OKC the team they are ...
His binges win them games and lose them games. His feel for the game and intangibles are the reason he's not as great as pre injury Derrick Rose. Paul specifically would get so much more out of not only Durant, but the bigs on that team as well.
They need a coach on the floor, someone to control the games, pace, and tempo. Westbrook isn't that guy. Put Westbrook at the SG spot, and let him be the over emotional female he is ... and get a level headed quarterback of the team at PG and OKC becomes legit.
So, I take it you have ditched the Rose bandwagon, and are now glued to the Westbrook bandwagon? lol ...
Its too late for a return. He needs to just prepare himself for next season.

Yes, perfect logic. Because Paul is making so much better use of Blake Grififn and Deandre Jordan :oldlol:, he will make Perkins and Ibaka into superstars and magically help them convert on wide open layups.
And what is he gonna do with Durant? Pass to him for contested jumpers without breaking down the defense like he does with Clippers shooters? You are one of those guys that thinks Paul will help Durant average 40PPG? Your imaginary scenarios aren't based in reality in the slightest, Paul's passive attitude will do nothing but hurt the team while the opposing defense gets set and stops anything he tries to do due to his lack of speed, athleticism and penetration ability. Rose would make the team better, but not freaking Paul, especially not post injury.
Apparently Westbrook's binges are good enough to win them 55+ game every year, a fact you always avoid.
I am just gonna ignore anything you spew about OKC, since you clearly have no idea wtf you are talking about nor do you even watch OKC games.
I still watch most Bulls games and follow the team, Rose needs to play for me to be on his "bandwagon", hard to talk about a player when he hasn't been on the court for over a year. Next season I guess.
I like how people act like coaches have no jobs. they aren't just there to get front row seats in game. it's their duty to execute and maximize everyone's potential.
not westbrook's fault, he has a coach that gives him the green light and the freedom to do whatever. give him a coach like popp and i'm sure he'll be great.

This. Rose is obviously not psychologically ready for the NBA yet. He could slowly ease into the regular season, with like 10-15 minutes a game but he doesn't. If he can't come back in the regular season no way is he coming back during the playoffs. Lebron would take a dump on him anyways. Not talking about the brutalization by the lakers if they some how make the NBA final...
Didnt he say he will come back once he can dunk off his left leg? That looked like his left leg to me
The people criticising Rose here have either never played high level competitive sport or have been lucky enough to never have a serious debilitating injury.
Playing hard 100% at elite level is taxing on your body and the force on your knees is immense. The man knows his body better than anyone and trust me, he wants to be on the floor. He just needs to do his best to decide when he can play at the level he needs to and be confident he can play his natural game without doing himself further long term damage, pain and time on the sidelines.
Not playing, seems like it's all in his head. If you think you can't play (mentally scared), you won't play no matter what anyone says.
I shattered my knee and it was so hard to return to my first game/practise, but I have to say it's and should be little different when the team is paying you millions and you don't play (if it's all mental)
when you have psychologists, doctors, psychiatrists, physiotherapists, physical trainers, human movement specialists and half a dozen other specialists health workers with you, your expected to do a tad more then the average joe.
he looks VERY slow compared to his former self
Dude is mentally ill. Scared as fvck, If I had his body I would be 5x MVP. In one season.
He'll be too rusty if he comes back now. He should have made the come back in March to give him time to get acclimated to NBA ball again.
weak minds
better to come back too late than too soon in this case. it's easy to understand the cautionary standpoint. he's the future and wouldn't be the first young franchise player to miss a whole season recently (Griffin). The only thing I wonder about is the chemistry between Rose, Bulls management, and the rest of the team. Rose (and adidas) basically cashed in on his return, yet it never happened. Is there any word on whether Rose has private doubts about the roster and the teams chances? If there's evidence to suggest he's not playing because of reasons outside of mental/physical health than that would be weak and seemingly out of character. but just speculating. He's one of my favorite players
rose should play a few minutes tomorrow
Chicago is now the 5th seed w/ the possibility of grabbing the 4th. I hope dude comes back for the playoffs.

No. Chicago is getting the 5, we're 3 games back with 5 games to go. Plus, Noah is done until the Playoffs, wouldn't be surprised if Deng was too.
No reason for Rose to come back with these circumstances. I'm thinking he will sit out until next year, but still a small chance of him returning in the Playoffs if everyone gets healthy.
Whatever.
I find it hilarious how he dunks with more authority than most big men in the NBA. :lol
Assuming he's not stupid, he will not return this year. It's way too late at this point, he can hurt his team as much as he can help them.
It's much smarter to return next year, even if he's physically 100% now.
I'm tired of these rose threads. I'm so sick of all of this. Wish he would come back or say he ain't coming back this season :banghead:

You're basically turning into a smarter more eloquent version of brenda. And I use smarter loosely because, like brenda, you post with a lot of ignorance when it comes to Westbrook.
Look at OKC's record before they got Westbrook and look at their record since then. Lottery team his rookie season and then once he stepped up they've been a contender since then. He helps more than he does harm to the damn team people!
he looks VERY slow compared to his former self
You wouldn't be saying that if I posted another video of him working on his penetration and post moves.
He's also going at 50-75% of game speed. I'm sure his goal was to test out his vertical explosion.
You wouldn't be saying that if I posted another video of him working on his penetration and post moves.
Hey so you want him to come back this season right? Do you think he's gonna be in game shape and do you think they'll be able to develop the chemistry again while contending in the playoffs?

I don't see why not. He's been practicing with the team this whole time. He knows the playbook, and all the sets. Even Boozer was saying, Rose would fit right back in. He's an MVP caliber player, and he's been working with them for an extensive period of time.
Of course, I'm not saying play him 40 minutes from the jump, but let him play, and see what happens. Give him until the 4-5th game to get back to form, and if he's more of a detriment to the team, sit him out until the next round.
I don't have a problem with him not playing this playoffs, but I don't see how he would negatively impact the Bulls if he were to return.
This is a former MVP, and one of the best PG's in the league. If he can't come back and make his team better than take that MVP away from him right now.
Even the biggest Bulls hater, Nick Friedell was saying Rose has been dominating in practice for the past few weeks, and he looks just like old Derrick Rose. He was firmly on the "sit Rose" coalition.
Rose himself said, "Once I'm ready, I'll be out there. If that means the 2nd game of the playoffs, then I'll be out there."

I'll have to watch the video later. The other one when he was practicing or going 1 on 1 with the team didn't really tell me anything. I don't think he should come back this season and try to do it. I just have this thing with Chicago. When he's not playing the other players seem to play so much better. When he's there they ball watch. They're a championship caliber team to me (Able to make the playoffs w/o their best player), but when he's back they seem to do a complete 180. He should put them over the top not carry the team. Does that make any kind of sense?

I am in every random youtube basketball video. :D
Anyways, looks good, he could probably return but only Rose knows when he is ready, he wants to come back 110%.
