Computer guys, is this a good deal? Please advice.
MacBook Pro Early 2011.
I7 processor, 2.7 GHz quad-core
2 TB
16 GB RAM
13 inch screen
Intel HD Graphics 512 MB
X El Capitan operating system
For $1,000.
The specs are very impressive I'm just hesitant on spending a G on a 2011 version. The laptops are over 3G's brand new today though.
I know Apple laptops age well but please advice.
I know very little about computers and prefer a 13 inch screen as I need it for travel.
Re: Computer guys, is this a good deal? Please advice.
Depends on what you're going to be doing on it.
Tbh you can get a dell with the same specs for like 600-700 and they age/ are just as good.
Re: Computer guys, is this a good deal? Please advice.
just get a windows laptop. you'll get much newer technology for the same price.
i have an iphone 7 and an ipad but i ain't fucking with no apple laptop or desktop.
Re: Computer guys, is this a good deal? Please advice.
No the entire point of getting macbook pro is for the resolution, the 2011 is 1280 x 800. Battery life will be like shit.
You're better off just getting the recent air 13"
Re: Computer guys, is this a good deal? Please advice.
how about you look up prices on ebay or craigslist and compare? the only people on here that can give you an accurate answer are the ones that actually did the research for you.
Re: Computer guys, is this a good deal? Please advice.
No way for $1000. Half that price might be fair if it's in perfect condition, but still high.

The prices range 600-1200 for 2011.
I just saw a MBP for 900 but it was i5 processor, 4 MB of RAM, 500 MB of space and 2.5 GHz for a dual core.
Is there a noticeable difference between a 2011 and current MBP's in the resolution?
Re: Computer guys, is this a good deal? Please advice.
If you are willing to pay 1000 you might as well get a newer model
So it's a bad deal
Then again 16GB ram....
Re: Computer guys, is this a good deal? Please advice.
In terms of specs? Not really. You could get better deals, but it depends on what you want to do. If you are just browsing the internet and watching movies, 1k is too much.
The cpu and hdd seems nice tho, but probably not worth it depending on what you want to do.
Unless you really down with apple, you can get a laptop pc with similar or better specs that's cheaper. And they would include a Solid State Drive, which would open things faster for you. Those specs that you mentioned don't seem to have one.
You can look up some stuff here:
http://www.xoticpc.com/custom-gaming-laptops-notebooks-msi-laptops-ct-95-51-165#!/dir=asc&limit=100&no_cache=true&order=price
Just choose what you want. You can customize it too.
If you want something cheaper then go with dell.
Re: Computer guys, is this a good deal? Please advice.
5 year old laptop... things will break down soon... just normal wear and tear.... maybe a keyboard button (return key, space bar, etc.) doesn't work, maybe missing pixels start to show up on the screen, maybe a battery that's about to be un-chargeable due to old age, maybe a hard disk reaching bad sector territory... it's bound to happen to every computer in time, regardless of brand. 5 years old is pretty old.

also, this.
1280 X 800 is soooo weak now.
your current phone is probably a lot sharper.
Re: Computer guys, is this a good deal? Please advice.
I found an early 2015 MBP 13'3.
It's an i5- dual core at 2.7 GHz
Force touch tech.
Retina screen
16 GB Ram
Warranty till 2018 SEPT
$1,400
Is this a better deal?
I'm just not sure about the processor.
I7 as a quad core >>>> i5 as a dual core?
Re: Computer guys, is this a good deal? Please advice.
Just get a Dell XPS 13 for around the same money.
Re: Computer guys, is this a good deal? Please advice.
what are you using the computer for? processor doesnt really matter unless you are rendering tons of hd video or something like that.
are these used? i would never buy a used laptop
