Oh ok cool. Everyone else's season started 3 months ago.
Ya i saw that after game.
Good luck lakers
 So you guys were just fooling around until now? Why would he even say it like that? Just say there's no margin for error anymore or something. What a fool.
Fuck you.
"I told the team, the biggest thing is our season starts Sunday,'' coach Mike D'Antoni said. ''We've got to make a run. We've got one shot at it, and everybody needs to get ready mentally and physically. From there on, we can't make any more false steps. That's just how it is. We put ourselves in this ditch, and we're the only ones that can get it out, and hopefully we can get some guys back and start our season Sunday.''
D'Antoni is a clown
D'Antoni is probably the only coach in the game that I really just don't like. Borderline useless.
I totaly agree. When you see the hard schedule, coaching change, injuries, you can understand that the season starts on sunday. There is no doubt in my mind that the Lakers will make the playoffs and end the season playing good basketball.
He is just trying to take pressure off his team. They are on a losing streak and wants his players to look ahead instead of back, nothing wrong with that although the way he says things he sometimes comes across as not-so-bright.
I think practicing 30 minutes of defense should do the trick.
Getting paid to be a therapist

And that would be an accomplishment?
And that would be an accomplishment?
Considering what they are doing now, yes. This is not nba2k.
I remember the Heat 06 championship team had some sort of the same trouble to start the season.

Their starting 5 is being paid in excess of 82 million bucks. Just for those 5 players. You don't dish out that kind of crazy money just to make the playoffs.
30 Minutes!!!
And they'll have to play like the first seed to barely make the playoffs.
D'Antoni is really becoming a parody of himself. First the 30 minutes of defense, now this? I didn't think things could get any worse for him than what I saw in NY, but he's taken it to a whole new level. You have to admire that. Just when you think he can't, he tops himself. Kind of like bizarro Jordan.
And they'll have to play like the first seed to barely make the playoffs.
If they had a winning % equal to the Thunder and Clippers so far through the final 46 games, they'd still finish just 51-31, and that would require them to go 36-10.

D'Antoni is an idiot lol
The season started October 8th, and that should've been how the team viewed it since then. Now we're in a situation thats pretty much do-or-die and now we acknowledge its on us to win games?
LOL there's the Lakers excuse. They thought the season started later than originally planned. Makes sense...
well cant blame him for trying last hero rhetorics

The idiot didn't realize that his team looked awful from the beginning. Imagine if it wasn't for Bernie B's 4 game cushion they'd look even worse right now.
Sunday night: "Our season actually starts Tuesday"
Who do the Lakers play for the season opener this Sunday?
The Cavs lol

Noob is in before the Cavs sweep the Lakeshow.
This guy is no Phil Jackson.
The Cavs lol
Of course, I can see it now, IF the Lakers manage to beat the 9-29 Varejao-less Cavs, D'Antoni will say "see, I told ya!"

What a season opener.
Watch them lose to the Cavs and in the process give up 110 points.
The coach is just like their fans, excuses after excuses.....:facepalm
all the jokes in the world, but NO ONE wants to see the lakers come playoff time. I hope they get this shit together.
Ship this clown out of LA asap, pay 3 coaches, still better than the economical damage this losing bball is gonna cost mid/ long term.

They need to trade for young players that can play defense on the perimeter. Even though Antoni only practices defense for 30 ****ing minutes, his team is just not good enough defensively. Mike Brown was a defensive coach and teams still destroyed the Lakers. The coach is a minor problem, the players like Gasol, Jamison, and Meeks - who can't guard anybody and can't make an open shot is what the problem is. They need to trade those kind of players for a package of perimeter defenders or no matter who the coach is, they will miss this years playoffs.

Players suck too no doubt. But its imposible to plan for the future with a joke at the bench.

Why the **** does management give these guys 3+ year deals? Give them a one year contract so you can fire there ass if they suck, and if they are successful, extend the contract. Lakers are not going to make the Playoffs this year, and when that happens, no way is Antoni going to coach next year so they will have 2 coaches that they have to pay millions of dollars to the next 2 years that aren't even their coach, but that's what they deserve for giving them these deals and for not making a trade for defensive players.
