What two basketball players were the most impressive duo? Stockton and malone? MJ and pippen? Shaq and Kobe? Dwade and LBJ?
I got MJ and Pippen all day. MJ is two men on the offense and Pippen is two men on the defense.

All time.No.
Relative to era. Yes.
No team has ever had 2 top 3 players on the same team
D-Wade
Lebron
Wade and Shaq would be. Wade did a lot better with a past-his-prime Shaq who saw 10 minutes less per game in Miami because he had 3 injuries and was well into breaking down as a player.
If a healthy Prime Wade had a Prime shaq for 8 years like Kobe did, then Wade easily wins 5-6 titles within those 8 season instead of just the 3 kobe the stringbean could muster with a Prime shaq
Mark Madsen and Michael Olowokandi.
MJ and Pippen until Lebron and Wade start winning multiple rings, which we just can't be sure of as of right now.
Kobe and Shaq had a chance, especially since Kobe was entering his prime toward the later part of the three peat. It's too bad we never got to see the ceiling of those two together. Scary to think about how legendary they could have been.
Shaq and Kobe at their peak playing together were the best, but Jordan and Pippen sustained it for longer, didn't have the same ego problems and they had more talent around them.

In terms of overall body of work, I don't think any other duo can match Jordan and Pippen, and as far as duos at their peak, I don't think any can match Shaq and Kobe on the 2001 and 2002 teams.
I still think its MJ and Scottie.
15-1 in the playoffs, nuff said
kobe
shaq
before the divorce
Defensively: D-Rob and Tim Duncan

Honorable mention to Shaq/Kobe and Magic/Kareem.

I love john stockton. :D
MJ & Pippen, definitely. I also rate Kobe & Shaq pretty high up there among the best NBA duos of all-time.
Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul Jabbar, West and Chamberlain >> than anyone mentioned so far. West/Wilt had Baylor too.
Kareem and Magic are 2 top 5 players all time on the one team.

There were some awesome duo's in the history of the game
Moses Malone / Dr
Elgin baylor /west
Russell / Cosz'
Majic / Kareem
Kareem / Big O
West / Wilt
Barkley /DJ
Bird / Mchale
Duncan /Admiral
Shaq / Kobe
D-Wade / Lebron
Stockton / Malone would of been my pick ... ton's of records but the rings are missing
MJ Pip needless to say is the best
Shaq and Kobe, if not for their ego's they win 5+ titles.
Posters dont get it.
West and Chamberlain are the best duo ever - on both ends.
Check your history 13 years olds.

Posters actually think Stockton and Malone are better than West/Wilt?
Please.

Agreed, particularly Shaq and Kobe when the problems went away late in the 2001 regular season and the playoffs. They played like the 2 best players in the league in the playoffs.
For overall body of work, Jordan and Pippen without a doubt as you said and their peak as a duo(around '92) is right up there.
Magic and Kareem's primes didn't really overlap and while Malone and Stockton had great chemistry, Stockton was obviously not near the level of the other players we're talking about.
Havlicek and Russell were a fairly successful duo.

Actually Baylor and West better offensively.

Great look.
Jordan and Pippen or Shaq/Kobe
Not wade and lebron yet, too early.
And does anyone have a ****ing idea on when I will be able to view my own posts much less my profile? Ridiculous.

Shaq and Kobe >Stockton and Malone
Shaq and Kobe both regularly took over games, both were better at creating their own offense than Malone and Stockton didn't take over games with his scoring himself(except rare ocassions), plus both Shaq and Kobe were not only the best scorers in the league, but above average passers/playmakers for their position and their games fit well together. If Kobe penetrated and got to the basket, he had the best finisher in the game to dish it off to if the help came, if not, chances are, he'd score himself. You could give the ball to either and they could score for themselves or set up their teammates.
Shaq and Kobe were the best scoring duo, but the best offensive duo was probably Magic and Kareem. Best all-around duo was definitely MJ and Pippen.
YOU VERY LATE, I MADE THIS THREAD A YEAR AGO.

I disagree because of when they played together. If it had been '87-'90 or '91 Magic with Kareem at his '81 or younger level then I'd probably agree.

I think some people forget how dominant Shaq and Kobe were during that 15-1 playoff run in 2001. IMO they were the 2 best players in the playoffs that year and their only loss was by 6 points in overtime. In the Western Conference Finals they were blowing out the Spurs by 14, 39 and 29 points.

West was all defensive team member and Wilt arguably the best shotblocker ever.
On top of that both unstoppable.
In terms of peak, it's easily 2001 Shaq-Kobe.
