Bulls and Rose better deliver next season.
Rose will likely miss this entire season. It would be pointless for him to come back during the playoffs. The Bulls don't have a chance at winning the championship this season.
But the Bulls front office and Rose better deliver and truly compete next season. There better be some moves made this offseason. They better get a legit starting 2 guard and Rose better come back putting up numbers better than his MVP season if he's going to sit out this entire season to get 100%. There should be no excuses next season for him. He's been medically cleared to return. He wants to wait? That's fine. He feels he's not ready. But, next season, he better be ready.

What's wrong with Butler at the 2?
What's wrong with Butler at the 2?
I'm hoping Luol Deng gets traded and Butler takes his place at the 3. I want to trade Deng and Boozer. Go with a front court of Noah, Taj and Butler. Go after OJ Mayo at the 2.
-
Re: Bulls and Rose better deliver next season.
That's a weak front court offensively.

weak wing scoring too.
Granted, I still don't understand why he's homo for Mayo.
And the mavericks still have him next year anyway.
-
Re: Bulls and Rose better deliver next season.
That's a weak front court offensively.
Not really. I mean Noah would be the same. Given more playing time Taj could develop a nice offensive game. Butler has already shown signs he can score.
I just think Mayo would be the best fit for this team. He's the exact type of 2 guard the Bulls could use. That is by far their weakest position. And Mayo is a free agent this summer.
-
Re: Bulls and Rose better deliver next season.
You make it seem like trading Boozer would be an easy thing to do. Nobody wants that contract.
And if we go and get rid of Boozer and Deng and just bring in OJ Mayo...well we're fcked. We're suppose to roll into the season with Noah, Taj and that's all?
Bring back what we have now, minus RIP and we will be okay. Getting everyone healthy will be key. Go out and either draft or sign a backup center. Maybe another wing for depth - a shooter would be nice, maybe a guy like Mike Dunleavy? Not sure who else will be out there...
Rose/Hinrich/Robinson/Teague
Butler/Marco/Hinrich/Cook
Deng/Butler/Dunleavy
Boozer/Taj/Malcolm Thomas
Noah/Rookie Center

Re: Bulls and Rose better deliver next season.
Deng will stay for another year or 2 i'm sure.
His 10th season with the bulls next year!

Re: Bulls and Rose better deliver next season.
There's just no excuse if he doesn't come back next season and perform at a high level. I'll give him a pass if he misses this entire season even though he's been medically cleared to return now for over a month. But it's his body, if he doesn't feel he can play right now. Fine. But next season he's got to be ready to go and take the Bulls at least to the ECF again. The front office better do their job during the summer and make sure he has all the help he can get and make this team a legit contender next season.

Chicago fans take it too easy on their star players. If this was NYC, Boston or L.A. Rose would be back out there right now playing.

Yep. Amare's playing. Played a lot this year too, and last year. Might have to start calling him Iron Man.
L.A. Yep, Pau and Nash played a lot through injuries this year. Hardly missed a game! Dwight too, not many missed this year.
On the Clippers side, Yeah CP3 played quite a few through injuries. Until he got injured again and missed what 7? in a row.

Those guys at least tried to come back. Amar'e played in a few games this season, Gasol is out there right now, Nash will likely play first game in the playoffs on Sunday.
Rose didn't even attempt a comeback this season.

Wrong, again you have demonstrated a lack of comprehension.
I said that with his heart problems, family tragedy, extreme height/bodymakeup and upbringing I understand that he had issues staying in shape....while I would have liked for him to be better, I accept him for being who he is. To me he was never really a lover of ball--ball came to him due to his height and he went with the best path available to him.
I also said that I support him because I grew up in the same neighborhood.
What is your excuse for being a lazy fatass btw?
A "free pass" is a term you would use. There are no passes, no way to tell Rose and the Bulls "they better deliver".....comments like that come from people that live in a fantasy world such as yourself.

Re: Bulls and Rose better deliver next season.
It's been frustrating to deal with how they've handled it. I think management and Derrick have known exactly what their plans are and the fact that they've been so reluctant to let us know what's going on is tough to deal with, but maybe they truly didn't and still don't know if he's going to play. Maybe he'll surprise us and still show up in the playoffs. Who knows.
I prepared myself that he may miss the entire season. Of course I'd like to see him out there, but if he needs to take the season off to get himself right then so be it. He and the team will be better next season because of it.

Um, because him and team were 100% transparent with us. Might sit for 2012-13 doesn't mean will play eventually.
Of course, the morons who get sucked into the media-spin of journalists who do nothing but ask the same Rose questions daily, looking for single-word-changes in responses, that screw themselves over and demonstrate to the world just how stupid they are at reading between the lines.
The stupid fans that are suckers for the media are the "little b*tch" of sheer impatience. But what can I expect, ya'll are keyboard warriors in your teens or 20s. You guys don't know any better.

Re: Bulls and Rose better deliver next season.
You can't honestly defend how the team and Derrick Rose has handled this situation. Even now they won't give an answer if he's done or not. They're STILL leaving a possible return open.
Rose and the Bulls did a shitty job handling this entire situation and with Rose being medically cleared to play 2 months ago and sitting on the bench because he has to be "110%" while his teammates are playing through injuries and sickness is just BS. Rose is being a p*ssy.

They said he was shut down for the season. And guess what, the media keeps asking the Bulls OVER AND OVER the same question. When did they leave the possibility open? When Thibs said Rose can play if he felt like it?
I don't know about you, but I went to school with many teachers that corrected our usage of the word can. I can jump off the Grand Canyon, I can strap a rocket onto my back, and launch myself into space. Are you so brain damaged, that you can't comprehend the difference between "can" and "will"?
-
Re: Bulls and Rose better deliver next season.
Don't blame the media on this one. The Bulls organization and Derrick Rose won't give a straight answer. They will not say Rose is done for the season. There hasn't been an official statement made by the Bulls saying he's 100% done for sure this season and there's no chance of a comeback. They're still leaving the door open.
Stop defending Rose/Thibs/Paxson/Forman/Reinsdorf on this. They've handled this completely wrong.

I'll defend them all day long on this. They handled this situation correctly.
The only way the Bulls could handle it differently, is if they KNEW. And guess what, they DO NOT KNOW. Rose DOES NOT KNOW.
Don't blame the media. LMAO. :hammerhead:
-
Re: Bulls and Rose better deliver next season.
So you admit that they didn't come out and say that Rose was in fact going to miss the entire season?
So how did they handle this right? Why shouldn't they be criticized for it? People will still question Derrick Rose right now because him and the Bulls front office still won't come out and say that there's a 0% chance that we will see him play this season. Instead they've teased us since he was cleared back in March. And they still continue to tease us. That's not handling it right at all and Rose and the Bulls management do deserve all the criticism they're getting.
Don't let a couple of good seasons fool you. The organization has been an absolute joke the past decade. They were lucky enough to draft Derrick Rose in 2008. Other than that they've done very little right. Reinsdorf and Paxson are idiots.
-
Re: Bulls and Rose better deliver next season.
They came out and said he was going to miss the whole season. And he did miss the whole season Do you think they have been misleading you, by telling you that he was going to miss the whole season, and then he misses the whole season?
The media still kept asking, will Derrick play? Every day, asked every player in every interview. And you suggest, they shouldn't be getting any blame for this?
And all of a sudden someone worded the question, can Derrick play. The answer was YES, he CAN play. This goes back to this response. http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showpost.php?p=8543582&postcount=34
Knowing the difference between CAN and WILL. I don't know how to be any clearer than that.
Do you understand the difference between CAN and WILL? I mean, I can act like the media, and keep asking you the same question until I get the answer I want. So do you understand the difference between CAN and WILL?
Guess what, Thibs also said he can play in the post-season. Did your lack of understanding of the word "can" get your hopes up for some odd reason? Then that is your own damn fault.
Until someone says that Rose WILL play, quit having a knee-jerk reaction to every blogger trying to fill his/her quota.
-
Re: Bulls and Rose better deliver next season.
So first you said that they don't know if Rose will miss the whole season and then you say that they came out and said Rose will miss the whole season? Which one is it?
Because they're STILL not ruling out a possible return for Rose vs. the Heat at some point this series.
''Still in the air,'' Rose said Monday before the Bulls went through a game-day practice in Miami. ''I might have a chance.''
At no point did Rose, Paxson, Forman, Reinsdorf come out and say that there is 0% chance that Derrick Rose will miss the entire season. Instead they've been teasing the fans and then wondering why they're being criticized for it.
Quit defending them already. Now you're just coming across as pathetic.

I did say both? When? I said learn the difference between can and will. :lol Reading comprehension is your friend. The Bulls said he wasn't going to play in the season, and he didn't. Now it's the post-season, and people are spinning this whole media-storm all over again.
No wonder you're so confused. Understanding the difference between CAN and WILL will help you throughout life. Not just trying to figure out the deal with Derrick Rose in the 2013 NBA playoffs.
