These numbers are bogus. WTH

Oh well... who cares?
His average is still paltry. He had the benefit of Shaq carrying him to many playoffs series to add to the total.
Still doesn't take away from the fact that he freezes mates out during crunchtime trying to play hero rather than making the best, smartest play.

16 Years of around 4 to 5 assists per game is not that impressive.
doing it for 16 years is mighty impressive

Okay, so let's praise his durability, Iron Man stature and luck with rosters.
The total does nothing to vindicate him of his selfishness.
Paltry average, son. Paltry.
While the stat presented can be a bit misleading when compared to the guys whom he's passed, it's definitely worth noting. He's been balling at a high for a large number of years, and it's like I've always said: One of the smartest players ever who probably almost always knows the right play. Just has a definite flair for the dramatic.
 . That's actually really interesting. What's more interesting is the fact that MJ has less assists than him.
:coleman:
not sure if serious
Kobe led his team in assists every year, except one, for over a decade.
Good for Kobe, hope he gets it this season(which he obviously will).

:facepalm
10th post and he has already proven himself to be an idiot. Is that a new record?

Let's see you average 5 assists per game for 16 years...Wait...Let's see you average 5 assists, period.
Averaging more than 5apg for 16 years and playing most of his career in the triangle offense.. That's our GAWDBe..
that's pretty neat...quite the unique distinction

There are 155 players in NBA history that have qualified all-time during the regular season to have averaged between 4 to 5 assists.
There are 75 players in NBA history that have qualified all-time during the playoffs to have averaged between 4 to 5 assists.
On both lists, Kobe's one of the few players that isn't a point guard.
Not to mention, Kobe played a lot of those years within the triangle offense, so he couldn't rack up all those assists, even if he was looking to play that way (facilitator).
I wonder if it counts as assist when kobe airballs and his teammate catches and scores.
