Most the bloods come over from Camden. Only the Delaware River/Ben Franklin Bridge or Walt Witman Bridge separates the 2, so they're almost one. A lot of Philly's gangs are by street. 56th street has beef with 60th and so on. Murda capital.

Gangs, and gang signs, have entered the realm of pop culture. So many "hood" celebrities speak of or show their affiliations in videos or photos, it's "cool" now. Is it smart to throw up gang signs? No. Does that mean he just shot someone in the face? No.

You know for the most part of my life i grew up in the south and mid west (georgia, SC, indiana) and there are gangs everywhere, hell when i was young i considered myself affiliated with the GD's. But this is stupid, these little prep school kids, making 14 man gangs, let them go to homeland park SC and find out what a real gang is like. I know some of these kids have it rough, but for the most part, a good high school player is catered to and treated like a crowned king by his community, and has no reason to try to affiliate themselves with gangs. I guess we have forgotten the true meanings of the origin of these "street gangs". LK and C's were both community projects to raise the general well being of all who participated. I know its hard in the streets, thats where im from, but education, perseverance and hard work is the key.

I always thought Marcus Williams had blood connections when he was at UConn. I doubt that many NBA players are still actively involved in gangs. I've known many bloods in Brownsville, East NY and Bed-Stuy Brooklyn and it's not some joke to them. You usually just don't get into these gangs. I don't doubt that quite a few of these players were involved in gangs when they were younger, like Stephen Jackson and many still probably have some of the same friends, but it's really not a big deal.
