Russell's Celtics were ridiculous. I just went through their rosters and found that every one of their championship teams had at least four or five guys who ended up in the Hall of Fame. That's pretty crazy.

I think Russell benefited tremendously from playing with superstar teammates. Had free agency been like how it is today (did it even exist?), there's no way this Celtics team would have remained intact.

And then, of course, you have to factor in - yes, again - that there were only nine teams or so.

Can you imagine Michael Jordan's Bulls playing in a nine-team league that didn't have free agency? They would have easily won ten titles. Simply by being a good team and staying intact.

Russell's Celtics pretty much beat up on the same teams over and over again. Not to take anything away from them, but these factors cannot be ignored.

And isn't Russell known mostly for being a winner? What if he played on a bad team? Would he alone have been good enough to carry them to respectability? Would he have won a ring? And had he gone ringless or just won a few, would he still be considered in the argument for the best center ever?

When people think of stalking, they generally form a picture of a man with binoculars sitting in a car outside of a woman's house. The man follows this woman as she goes to work or to the store. The stalker may even send the woman a note or make phone calls telling the woman that he is watching her every move. There is now a different kind of stalker on the prowl. This individual may not even reside in the same state or even the same country as his or her victim. People are now being stalked through the Internet. This violation has been termed cyberstalking. Cyberstalkers typically target inexperienced users and about 80% of these victims are female [1]. Unfortunately, law officials have not decided on a single definition for cyberstalking. So currently, there are several definitions [2].

Some general characteristics of cyberstalking are [3]:

Malice: the desire and intention to hurt someone.
Premeditation: the presence of planning and organization.
Repetition: the harassment does not occur only once.
Distress: the activity causes fear and distress to the targeted individual.
Obsession: the stalker cannot stop his or her actions.
Vendetta: the stalker seeks revenge against the targeted individual.
Threats: a statement that makes the targeted individual fear for his or her physical safety.
Disregarded Warnings to Stop: the targeted individual has clearly warned the stalker to stop, and the stalker ignores the plea.
Many of the cyberstalking laws that do exist only apply to the particular state that passed them.
Cyberstalking victims do not have that much protection. "Victims of this crime cannot be adequately protected due to the lack of enforceable laws to persecute and deter this behavior." [4] Many people don't even see cyberstalking as a serious threat, but people who have not been victimized by this crime fail to realize that "...online stalking is just as frightening and distressing as offline stalking- and just as illegal too." Many people who speak of the Internet generally speak of the benefits, but people should remember that the Internet has its downside too: "It's our new frontier, a digital Wild West. As befits such a rough-and-ready place, it's populated by lots of bad guys." [7] There are "bad guys" out there who carry the name "cyberstalker;" thus, the Internet user should beware

Internet stalker profile (and any stalker, especially a male)

If you've been wooed by a cyberstalker, this profile will bring you back to reality:

lives in a 1-room apartment which hasn't been cleaned for months - if ever

has stacks of pornographic magazines in his bedroom area

has poor personal hygiene

has poor table manners

has poor social etiquette

hasn't changed the sheets on his bed for months, which are now best described as crusty

has a bathroom, the state of which doesn't bear thinking about

lives on pizza and beer/coke, the remnants of which litter his apartment

may have an unusual pet (eg ferret) which has free run of the apartment

is either significantly over- or under-weight

has a small moustache or other facial hair

has not held down any job for more than a couple of years, probably less

has no friends

has no life outside the Internet

The Internet stalker probably has other unpleasant characteristics that sexual harassers possess, and the usual sexual inadequacy including lack of intimacy, controlling behaviour, no concept of the partner's needs, premature ejaculation, and an abnormal belief bordering on obsession in his smallness.

Stalker types

Intimate partner: this stalker, the most common type, is a partner or more usually an ex-partner who can't and wont accept that a relationship has come to an end. They can't let go.

Vengeful stalker: this is the most dangerous type whose mission is to get even and/or take revenge. Mostly male, he has a grudge and he's going to do something about it. The vengeful stalker may never have met his victim, who may be a politician, council official, boss, organisation, etc.

Delusional stalker: this one has a history of mental illness which may include schizophrenia or manic depression. The schizophrenic stalker may have stopped taking his or her medication and now lives in a fantasy world composed of part reality and part delusion which he or she is unable to differentiate. If they're not careful, targets of the delusional stalker are likely to be sucked in to this fantasy world and start to have doubts about their own sanity, especially if the stalker is intelligent, and intermittently and seamlessly lucid and "normal".

Erotomaniac: this stalker is also delusional and mentally ill and believes he or she is in love with you and will have created an entire relationship in their head.

Variations

Harasser stalker: some stalker types like to be the centre of attention and may have an attention-seeking personality disorder; they may not be stalkers in the strict sense of the word but repeatedly pester anyone (especially anyone who is kind, vulnerable or inexperienced) who might be persuaded to pay them attention. If they exhibit symptoms of Munchausen Syndrome they may select a victim who they stalk by fabricating claims of harassment by this person against themselves. Cyberstalkers and love rats: again, these may not be stalkers in the strict sense of the word but they have many similar characteristics. Cyber stalkers and love rats surf the web with the intention of starting relationships and may have several simultaneous relationships. The targets of a cyber stalker may know little about the person they are talking to (other than what they've convincingly been fed) and be unaware of a trail of other targets past and present.

The Troll's purpose is to be given more credibility than (s)he deserves, and to suck people into useless, pointless, never-ending, emotionally-draining, ranting discussions full of verbal loops and "word labyrinths", playing people against each other, hurting their feelings, and wasting their time and emotional energy. It's common for stalkers to exhibit characteristics of more than one of these stalking types.

Warning signs

These are the signs to be alert to:

expects you to spend all of your time with him/her or inform him/her of your whereabouts

refuses to accept "no" for an answer

excessive niceness in the early stages

I am sorry for being poor in english but Panda's claim that i completely plagearized other people's work is completely irrelevant. You can actually read the posts and it is completey different from the main source.

It is just so annoying that so many people in PEX are one dimensional poster; if you will argue with them their will always find a better way to keep you down.

The issue here is that he plagiarizes posts and passes it off as his own. What's worse, he's so zealous in his plagiarism, he doesn't even realize he's posting conflicting arguments, making the overall product schizophrenic in nature. And to make it more of an incomprehensible mess that it already is, he puts the posts back together in disjointed order, while adding his own thoughts in (or so he says), which doesn't know where it's coming from.

OK kid. I'll just give you a piece of advise you may consider. Take an english course. And that isn't meant as an insult.

I dominate 3 languages, and I still hate anything that has to do with formal grammar and else. But I also know well it's an obligatory step. You clearly have the interest in the language which is 60% of the way, but you lack too many fundamentals. As lame as it may sound you do need that stuff. It's like knowing all the fancy dribbles and still being unable to hit an open shot to save your life.

And don't think anyone in the internet has to / will take you seriously. I took a little of the seriousness that I reserve for my real life to type that above, and I'm still wondering why I bothered to.

To me, it lies in the fact that if you say something controversial, then that will draw a lot of responses and negative feedback, potentially. Most people just don't have the time, or the will to argue back and forth for hours on end. Yeah, someone like you or me, or pretty much anyone who has more than 2,000 posts on here and is a regular member doesn't mind going back and forth. However, I think a lot of people just want to post something on here, and get on with their day. Maybe check later in the day for some responses, but leave it at that. If you leave a questionable thread undefended, then people are going to lose respect for you and think that you are avoiding arguments since you aren't responding. That may not mean much at the surface, or may seem silly, but when you try to create threads in the future, that could result in more people piling on top of you b/c of your non-response to their threats/beefs in previous topics. To those who say "who cares?" We all care what other think about us, whether it's the real world or an online messageboard. Even though my own personal "care factor," is pretty low, I still want to come across a certain way and have the respect of a few people........

That may not mean much at the surface, or may seem silly, but when you try to create threads in the future, that could result in more people piling on top of you b/c of your non-response to their threats/beefs in previous topics. To those who say "who cares?" We all care what other think about us, whether it's the real world or an online messageboard. Even though my own personal "care factor," is pretty low, I still want to come across a certain way and have the respect of a few people........
all the "good posters" in the eyes of the board at large I can think of have your post total or higher. they care. they write several paragraphs of stuff that you could find on wikipedia or espn with the words shifted around, and they do this to the tune of 4,000 posts, and while I wouldn't argue that they aren't good posters, they often get named as some of the top posters on this site, when they can't hold a candle to the posters that actually mean something to the board, and that's not just the obvious Gobb and Kblaze, that extends even to Knoe, Joey Zaza, AppleNader, guys with something to say. take AppleNader I don't think he has that many posts but he's clearly made an impact. Joey Zaza had a really low post rate but he's taken more plunges than almost anybody else and almost always come out on top and changed minds.

I certainly see your point but at the same time, if somebody really has something unique bursting inside them, and they've got 2-4000+ posts, I think they've got time to say it.

Lebron23 is really just a blatant, obvious version of something that's kind of bothered me about part of ISH in general. people just repeating the opinions of others. if that's all you're going to do I just kinda feel like you're wasting your time, unless you consider it part of the learning process.

I understand what you're getting at, but face it as long as you possess an adequate amount of pure, naked F.A.C.T.S in you're head, then you can be deemed knowledgeable to some extent, rite? Doez it really matter what the source is? Be it growing up, travelling, experiencing, being taught, learning a lesson, watching a film etc. Good Will Hunting had a nice quote on this, but reading on the internet IZ a way to acquire knowledge, az eazy and lazy as it is. Lebron23 qualifiez for that, but I wouldn't say he'z smart in the advice, artistic, or expressive extent you know?

Like I never assume a dude to be smart or dumb, but rather I try to look beyond a simple, absolute adjective and see the good/bad, the limitz, the usefulness of that Homo Sapien.

Lebron23 wrote a couple nice threadz on nostalgic cartoonz, anime, and some nice comparisons, and regardless of how smart you are. that one thought or topic of discussion may not have crossed your head in quite a while. So in that sense, Lebron23 did a favor, and proved his usefulness to the ISH crew.

but I am starting to like the guy more now. He's tone it down a lot recently, even though we had our arguments earlier. But he's pretty harmless. He obviously also is really sensitive to all of this internet stuff, so people should take it easy on him.
