View Full Version : Why's TJ Mcconnel paid like $8M and Bruce Brown gets $22M?

Seems to me they're both the same tier of solid role players. I'd even say TJ is more solid, a guy every team can use whether as backup or main guard.

Probably because McConnell signed his deal in 2021 and Brown signed in 2023, I think the cap jumped pretty markedly in just those two years IIRC.

TJ also chose to re-sign with the same team, maybe hed have gotten more to go elsewhere but chose not to.

There is a reason but I won't say it

TJ can't shoot very well.

Shooters of the bench are worth more.

You can't be racist against white people.

I do believe that american white guards are undervalued, such as Caruso, Reaves, TJ, but also the lesser euro guards.

Time and time again you see teams that make it far in the playoffs have more than average white players.

They're really a bargain.

Caruso would've been huge last year vs Denver to stop Murray from turning into Jordan.

Indiana got creative with their cap space knowing that they needed a big salary to be able to trade for a star.

Brown essentially got a 1 year deal since the 2nd is non- guaranteed. He maximized immediate return in lieu of long term security. Anyone alluding to racism or anything else should jump off the closest cliff.
