Who knows if he’s right or not but he’s been covering the guy since he was in high school so I assume he has better sources than I do.
other than Philly(who I assume will take Paul George) I’m not sure who has money but He could always take whatever is available to go somewhere. He really wants to be. I assume we’re in for a few months of madness.

He's going to a championship ready team so he can "lead" them to the promised land.

Time for the bronsexuals to bother another team again

Trying to get more leverage for Bronny maybe. I'd be very surprised if he left LA. I think LeBron just likes the limelight and attention. Anything to get people talking about him.

He's going to a team like OKC or indiana. a small market team with good players and up and coming players. Then plays one year with them and trade all their young talent away for aging vets.

He's only got a year left on his contract and he just proved he's still literally LeBITW. It's logical to opt out and see if there are longer deals that make sense in case he wants to keep playing multiple years. Even if he only wants to play one more season he's probably eligible to make more money next year on a new deal than on his current one. There's really no reason not to opt out as far as I can tell. It doesnt mean he's leaving, although that is an option clearly.

opt out is only for a new contract into his final years IMO, and possibly assist the team salary wise to win over this and next year by loading the back end and freeing up now to sign whoever (if allowed, not sure how the contract structure works)
he has a new home being built in LA, kids school is pretty set in LA too. many buinsess ventures in LA, not to mention the potential NBA team ownership in Vegas being a skip away from LA. hard to see him move on based on all this in place right now

if LeBron and Russell both opted out, could the Lakers maneuver it so they have enough cap space to absorb a max contract while sending back every pic imaginable? They even have picks left to trade? LeBron and Russell make about 70 million combined next season. I feel like they could create the wiggle room to steal somebody who wanted out.
They wouldn’t want Paul George who they could maybe sign but….Zion, Donovan, Trae Young or someone else with youth?
that kind of bullshit just tends to go to the Lakers way historically.
if Russell opts out could Bron then opt out to free up the space and allow them to make whatever move they want before signing back for whatever minuscule money is left once they agreed to draft his kid? If he will play for crumbs, the Lakers can add another Max player can’t they?

If he's seriously considering other teams he should go to Philly. As a Celtic fan facing Paul George doesn't worry me one bit. But James added on to Maxey and Embiid? Yeah that could be a problem. They're good enough to give him his test when he needs it and give Embiid test when he needs it. Keep those two fresh through the season and that's a combination of scoring ability, size and intelligence that will be hard to beat.

If he wants to stay in LA, why not go to Clippers?
This Clippers team is good, very good, even without Kawhi.
Have him replace Westbrook and play alongside Harden and PG for one more season and Kawhi if he makes it. That team could win a ring, particularly if they keep Zubac, who is probably a top 5 center now.

The guy wants ring #5 with his kid he can't do that in LA.
Dallas and New York are really good options for him..

As a couple of others said I think he's just opting out probably to set is last final contract. I doubt he's going anywhere. Except him to stay in L.A. I'd be surprised if he didn't.
