Zero people here think that’s happening….right?

Or do the Magic have believers that this isn’t a massive fluke due to turn into a play in spot any minute now?

100% not a fluke.

Defense is legit, best bench in the league, Franz and Paolo are all-star worthy, Suggs is All-Defensive Team worthy, Cole is 6MOTY worthy, and we are on an 8 game winning streak without our starting PG and C. Mosley got these boys cookin :pimp:

Not a fluke but 59 is a bit much. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s like 53 or something though.

They seem hungry and play with way more energy than most.

one of the best defenses and one of the best /and maybe deepest/ benches is something that you can lean on. Not 59 maybe even not 50 wins, but getting a homecourt doesnt seem absurd right now. 2 starters are missing too and actually they can turn into some decent trade package down the road.

Little of both most likely.

They had a few game stretch where they were facing teams with missing key stars.

Still, a win is a win. The Clippers just lost to a Nuggets team missing Murray, Jokic, and Gordon. So you gotta give the Magic credit for beating who’s in front of them.

I havent watched em but it would surprise me if they sustain this kind of win ing percentage.

Magic don't have a superstar but currently everyone's playing like a legit 3rd best player in any team. If your 7th man plays at the level of a 3rd option then you're good.

Magic are legit this year. They've had a relatively easy schedule so far, so they'll most likely end up with less than 59 wins, but who knows.

They're good. Not 59 wins good. I think about 42-45 wins is a fair estimate.

Here's a good breakdown of their defense:

Key points:

- Ridiculous amount of length and size (Goga, Paolo, Franz, Isaac, WCJ..)
- Big long/strong/athletic guards who are amazing at navigating screens, point-of-attack defense, and rotating (Suggs, Black, Anthony, Fultz...)
- Amazing defense in transition/semi-transition/after missing a shot (league average offensive rating on these possessions = 120; Magic defensive rating when defending these possessions = 107)
- Jonathon Isaac crazy versatile and dominant (Magic has a 97 defensive rating with him on the court)

I have no idea what to think of the Magic.

They have no top tier players on that team (currently, they have several with potential!) which is usually the best indicator that a team is overachieving. Jazz last year was a super easy prediction for them to come back down to earth...Rockets this year was/is as well (they'll be good in a year or two but right now they are overachieving)

...but I'm impressed with them. I think they'll fall out of a top 4 team in the Eastern conference by the end of the year but they are very solid.

Always a fan of small market teams being good:applause:

Jazz came back down to earth because they tanked after the trade deadline. Became quite apparent that Conley was the main reason they looked as good as they did. He's a winner

44 wins would make the 31-33 the rest of the way. I don’t really see below .500 for them at this point.

I'm actually rooting for this team. Hopefully they stay good enough that we don't have to play them in the first round. I was telling a friend that I believe the Magic would beat the Celtics in a 7 game series. They just have our number the last couple seasons.

I wouldn't be surprised if they went .500 rest of the way. Would still be a huge improvement from last season + potentally a 5-6 seed.

Their schedule is going to get tougher. They did have some wins vs really good teams too so I'm not saying it's a fluke, but going from 34 to 59 wins in a year is maybe a little too much for that team. They're still good but like 5-7 seed good and not an actual contender IMO. I'd like to be wrong on this.

We have the 22nd easiest schedule remaining. Finishing .500 the rest of the way would make us 45-37. I think we’re clearly better than that to go along with a weaker overall schedule.

41 wins! They've got a tough 13 games left; I think they'll go 5-8 and finish on 46 wins. ImKobe's prediction was on the money.

Per Minute Issac is EASILY the best defender in the league

If he was healthy enough to play 25+ minutes a night he would walk away with the DPOY every year, his impact on that end is goat level

You're overreacting to a game vs the sinking Kings.

Orlando are decent but are not there yet and it's obvious. They need to make another leap forward before being a lumped in with the likes of Denver.

They've had Bostons number this season, they can beat anyone in the East in a 7 game series.

I'm not saying they're going to win anything but they're not going to be a easy walkover for anyone

Yea they're a good team. Just need a dynamite shooter.

And for Paolo to take the next step and become a superstar.
