Is this the biggest drop off in production from regular season to post season for an MVP ever?

I'm surprised this hasn't been brought up yet.

Regular season

33 ppg
4 apg
55% fg
33% 3pt

Post season

25ppg
3apg
45% fg
20% 3pt

The knee is definitely an issue. I'm not using that as an excuse though.

I still get nervous when he gets his hands on the ball because I expect him to score everytime like he did in G5.

We'll see how he handles G7.

Wasn't it said that his knee is pretty messed up and typically an injury that takes 4-6 weeks to heal?

The David Robinson of his era, but even he led his team to the conference finals once.

Yep. And he's trying to say that he didn't get the ball in the 4th Q. You're the MVP, why didn't you call for the ball?

He doesn't get to blame other circumstances anymore. He wanted the MVP, he's going to get the blame like other MVPs, that's part of the deal.

If he gets in done in game 7, this is all moot.

He's Pat Ewing reincarnated. Has all the tools, but is soft AF and always hurt.

Averaging 27/9 on one leg with 3 blocks in the series is choking :oldlol:. I think I finally get it. Y’all make these threads to get a rise out of embiid fans. I finally get it. It won’t work anymore on me. Wow, this whole time I have just been getting trolled and it just sunk in right now with this thread lol

I blame Doc for last night's implosion.

When the legs get tired and shots stop falling, it's awfully nice to have a league MVP center to post up down on the low block when you need a basket.

Oh wait, they didn't do that. At all! :facepalm

If you're an MVP you have to take the blame for the losses. It's simple as that.

You can't say they didn't get me the ball. Can you imagine Lebron, KD or Jokic saying that and trying to use it as an excuse? Why the hell didn't he say give me the damn ball?

He wanted the MVP, this is part of the package deal, more responsibility. When you're an MVP you can't just do your part any longer. You have to go above and beyond.

Embiid was 3-6 in the 4th and the rest of the team 2-14. He has to demand the ball ofc, but he didn't even touch it the last 4 minutes, it's tough to put all the blame on him in those circumstances.

How has he choked exactly? He's been the best player in both of his series and the impact goes beyond his boxscore numbers as he's a dominant defensive player.

Nets and Celtics both have sold out against him which results in wide open 3s for everyone on the 76ers, and had they knocked down even some of those open 3s in the last 6 minutes of Game 6 they'd be in the ECF right now.

Like most of us said, embeta and Hardon are the two biggest loser chokers in the playoffs..
It’s nothing new, game 6 was standard for them..

Hardon prancing around, too scared to shoot, kept passing to maxey while embeta was MIA and didn’t want any part of the ball..:lol

ye, honestly he's not bad because he's doing what needs to be done. He's not scoring like he should or even moving like he should, but he's playing his role. I look OTHER PLACES for the problem.

I think we're seeing a drop off in general in the Eastern playoffs because it's a more physical game.

Tatum: 30.1 PPG RS (46% FG), 26.3 PPG PS (43% FG)
Brown: 26.6 PPG RS , 24.6 PPG PS; higher % in the PS though.

Giannis went from 31 PPG RS to 23 PPG PS.

If big men can get away with more physicality, my guess is their numbers would decline more.

Other point I make all the time- too much focus on individual offense.

He is the MVP. He should be demanding the ball. It absolutely is his fault for not shooting more
