Almost forgot that we are paying Hardaway/Bertans a combined 35 million this year and the next 2 essentially. Ouch...

If you really look at the roster. There are really only 4 players you'd want to keep at their current pay that actually matter...Luka/Maxi/Reggie/Josh...assuming Kyrie leaves in free agency...but even if he wanted to stay...super hard to surround him and Luka with what you'd need.

Yea, it was...but you lost a valuable role player in DFS in the process...the exact type of guy you need around Luka and he was on a great contract as well. You have to take the risk on Kyrie, but that risk was the result of poor team building that forces your hand.

So it was a risk worth taking, but only because the front office has done such a shit job (mainly not keeping Brunson) to lead up to that.

I called the Irving trade horrible. Just because you are 7-8 seed in the West you don’t just make a move to make a move. We could even go back to Porzingus decision being awful.

All Mavs had to do was surround Luka +Porzingus with solid role players and they would be top 4 team out West. Let Luka prove at that point if he’s actually great

Every move is defensible with some point of view, but yea...the roster is currently in shambles and while I do think there are some manifestations of Luka/Kyrie that work...I'd imagine Kyrie leaves in the summer and this roster is bare bones.

When you have a player as great as Luka, imo, something special is always on the table, but obviously it isn't looking good...
