Love this guys video and breakdowns. Interesting how the defense and the offense are constantly evolving looking to catch up or to find new ways to exploit weaknesses, Thanks for sharing this.

Offense will just cut one extra pass out and start killing that “scram” defense soon enough. Just like they started killing go under pnr defense and switching defenses. Just give it a year. The same way everyone is gonna figure out that dumb ass defense the Celtics run with twig camping the paint

Not evolutionary at all. Maybe it's new to you but most teams know how to counter switching tactics and more teams would be doing it if they were allowed to actually fight over screens without being called for a ticky-tacky foul due to new freedom of movement rules.

What you said doesn’t make sense? Switching tactics are defensive strategy. How do rules that help offense hurt teams countering switches. I’m guessing you mean teams wouldn’t have to switch as much without freedom of movement rules true but it’s still going be the best defense right now. Most traditional pnr defenses can’t deal with a guard who can produce good offense pulling up for 3 or a big spotting up. Before forcing a jumper was a win for the defense, hedging as shown in the video doesn’t work vs teams with corner shooting, ice doesn’t work vs bigs who can shoot

I have a feeling that in the next decade, several different new styles of perimeter-heavy-matchup-zone are going to become very prominent.
