Lakers are still a game out of the play-ins, but only now 2.5 games from 6th. They're still on a knife-edge to even make the play-ins, but a couple of good weeks could see them jump straight to 6th.

Likewise, a couple of bad weeks for the Mavs and they could be fighting for a play-in spot. A couple of good weeks and they'll be looking at HCA in Rd 1.

Crazy close conference standings this late in the season.

They have one of the easiest schedules in the league for the remainder of the year. There's about an 80% chance Lakers make the play-in. Definitely not on a knife edge.
