I'm guessing MJ, LeBron, & Russell are obviously locks. MJ & LeBron have had numerous historic playoff runs and 11 rings for Russell speaks for itself.

Who grabs the last 2 spots? Kareem had 3-4 great playoff runs from '70-'80 & a couple of forgettable ones. Won more titles after 1980 as a less dominant player, but seemed pretty consistent.

Magic besides the '81 postseason & the '84 Finals was always a great playoff performer

Jerry West?

Duncan?

Shaq & Hakeem had a couple of historic runs, even though Hakeem lost in the 1st round alot.

how is a great playoff performer 4 for 10 in nba finals with the 4 coming from 2 bail outs, a lockout and a bubble

not to mention only having 14 playoff series victories vs 50+ win teams in 20 years

magic johnson basically had that in 13 years with a 5 for 9 finals record

Kobe bryant had 24 with a 5 for 7 finals record

michael jordan had 20 with a 6 for 6 finals record

tim duncan had 18 with a 5 for 6 finals record

bill russell would have obliterated everyones total had there been a legit playoff format back then. he's 11 for 12 in finals

those 5 guys are above lebron by far. possibly kareem as well

they didn't spend their careers beating teams like the 2010's raptors, bobcats, knicks, wizards, lance stephenson pacers etc...

they didn't bounce around ring chasing every 4 years either

the highlight of lebrons playoff career is

- jumping on wade and bosh's d*ck after shitting the bed and quitting 3 straight years during a fake lockout season

- jumping on ray allens d*ck after a finals saving shot

- jumping on kyries d*ck after a finals winning shot

- jumping on AD's d*ck after tampering with colluded agencies to force a trade with the pelicans and winning a bubble ring vs a 5th seed heat team with all their key players injured while their biggest competition skipped it for a blm protest

what kind of legacy is this?

give me these guys

Lebron and Jordan and Wilt are clearly three of the best elimination game performers in NBA history when you look at their overall stats.

West also sticks out above the pack as his game seven and Elimination game averages are amazing to look at.

Especially when you consider that most of them were going up against the GOAT defensive team in Russell's Celtics.

I think its time we all stop this pseudo-academic babble talking about players we never seen play.

Let's stick to the players we seen play and who made us go wooowow.

For me that has to be:

1. MJ
2. Shaq
3. Duncan
4. Kobe
5. Curry
Runner up: Luka

Those are my honest to god woow players that I watched and I thought they made basketball the great sport that it is to watch.

The years of watching teams like Miami or Pistons or Celtics, that wasn't the same. Lebron never had that wooww factor, he was among the greats like KG and Durant etc, but you were never wooowwed in the same way as those 5.

 Lol at you calling LeShrivel, Mr. 22-33 finals record, an obvious lock. Go back and rewatch the 2011 post season.
