The European white players have been putting in work FOR YEARS!! A lot of guys who are All Star-superstar caliber. And many who are very good. The issue is WHERE are the American All Star-superstar level white players?? So I don't see Luka inspiring a generation of white American superstars. Kevin Love was the last American white player who was a top 15-20 level player in the league. And even in his case, he wasn't an exciting player to watch. Guys like Bird, Pistol Pete, Mark Price, Chambers, Jason Williams etc were LEGIT some of the most exciting players to watch in the league.

A lot of the White American players WHO COULD have filled the void are playing other sports most likely. Just think as David Stern's new age NBA was playing out the EMPHASIS on flashiness was getting marketed more and more. BUT what put it over the top was when the players who grew up on hip-hop and spawned the And-1 shit took over the league.

The hip-hop/street element who so marketed and so fun to watch I think MANY white parents likely steered their kids to other sports. OR some White American players may have been intimidated by the And 1 elements. OR some who were hella good in many sports thought their best shot to the go THE FARTHEST would be in other sports. THUS the disappearance of the great American White players. So it became a cultural thing. It's a SHAME they didn't understand that skill AND will can take you a long way. AND u can still become as superstar.

You don't need to be a freak athlete to be a great player. The White European players prove it time and time again. Dirk, Joker, and Luka in particular. Many White American players sold themselves short in my opinion. I just think the the thought u have to be a freak athlete OR ultra flashy pushed A LOT of potential great white players to other sports. They NEVER gave hoops a shot.
