Players fear all kinds of other players. Duncan didn't do all of the shit you talk about but that doesn't mean teams weren't as nervous playing the Spurs as they were any Kobe team.

I remember Paul Pierce talking about how he knew going into a game against Lebron that he was going to have to take an ice bath the next day or something. The relentless speed, strength, size aspect is a load to deal with. Maybe not as much in a 1-on-1 but over the course of the game it takes its toll.
