View Full Version : CP3 is the best 37-year old player ever

He may not be putting up the most impressive numerical stats, but the way he plays team ball, his leadership, his intangibles, and his impact are in paralleled for someone who's 37-years old (his birthday is tomorrow). It's looking likely that he'll lead his team to the finals for the second year in a row (unless the Grizzlies pull off the upset). We're witnessing the greatest player ever at his age.

Nope, he isn't better than LeBron.

CP3 is playing well, but he also has a much better supporting cast.

His only flaw is that every time his team has fallen short (which happens at some point every year since hes never won a chip), he’s failed to assert himself at a key late moment. Even if he already came up clutch just moments before, which he often does. He never quite finishes the job at the very end, which Ive never understood.

If you take away the last 20 seconds of every game he’s been eliminated, he’s honestly a top 20 guy pretty easily IMO. His three ball is very good, his midrange is automatic, and he knows where to get each teammate the ball to enhance their game best. And he can play defense.

Im not usually a “championships & resumé!” guy but in this particular case I feel he really needs to convert on one this year. He has the team for it. He cant go passive at the moment of truth. He needs to see it thru, and his legacy as a GOAT level guard will be cemented.

Jordan at 38-39 before the knee injury was better. LeBron is a better individual player right now at the same age, but doesn’t play defense and isn’t close to the leader or clutch player that Chris Paul is right now.

CP3 is a lot too bro. They’re the same age. They’re repping my generation still in the league quite well, tbh. LeBron physically still has higher capabilities but CP3 is more mature and a better leader. And he puts effort defensively so his team does better.

LeBron is playing for stats. He should be and is capable of being more impactful on an individual level than current CP3. Chris is just getting more out of team due to wisdom, age, leadership, and creating a winning culture in younger players. Meaning he’s a better leader than LeBron.

He can get his when he needs to but his value is in cultivating the confidence, IQ, and inspiration in much younger teammates.

What they’re both doing is remarkable, tbh. In an even younger league than it used to full of great athletes everywhere and in their primes.

CP3 is more impactful. On an individual basis LeBron is still better and more capable of higher ceilings. Which is also what makes him so disappointing.

I'll try to say this as appropriately as possible...

CP3 is an all-time great and one of the best points ever...maybe top 3...I don't know...he's a great great great player

However...and people will blame his age this year...but he has done different versions of this throughout his entire career. He either melts down or wears down in the playoffs...and yet you have his stans say he's a "near perfect player" and "never had help"...etc. etc. etc.

He's blown the most 2-0 leads ever...

Just go back to last Finals. Look at his game 4 in the finals to go up 3-1...Booker put a masterpiece game and Paul did nothing...made no impact at all...in arguably the biggest game of his career.

Is what it is. He's great, but he can't be put up there with a certain tier of player.
