Kawhi vs Durant - Which move a bigger failure?

Clippers - Nets window look closing.

I literally can't choose.

Both could have joined LeBron in Lakers that off season.

Now they both fail horrendously.

The bubble chip saves Lebron from this discussion. Winning that one title.

It literally could have been LeBron / AD / Durant together.

If Durant was any smart he would have taken that option.

Now look at him.

One conference finals between them in 3 seasons is an unmitigated failure, it's honestly a negligible difference and too close to call.

kawhi is already washed up , and pulling in George wasn't a help

KD has a year left on his spindled legs (34 next season) has weak mind Kyrie as a running mate.

a year was the difference how I voted.

Lebron. He said playoff mode activated, a storm is coming, these shoulders were made to carry and also keep that same energy. Missed playoffs twice and lost in round 1 as the favorite.

Durant at least wanted to prove himself without Curry, Kawhi's move was just dumb.

Lebron to the western conference is by far the biggest fail maneuver ever. without that bubble he has a lottery team every year after going to 8 straight finals out east

it’s been 1029 days since KD & Kyrie signed with the Brooklyn Nets and they have won 1 playoff series total.

Yet he actually brought a championship to LA:roll:

It’s a tie because they both tried to collude with Lebron but he wasnt interested.

He missed the playoffs more than any other star in the league.

At least Durant is there for the Playoffs. Clippers blew a 3 - 1 lead with everyone healthy after a 5-month break before the POs.

Even though KD is going to get a lot of hate for losing in the 1st round this season, it's nothing compared to how much everyone shit on Kawhi and "Playoff P" in 2020.

Kawhi even in the bubble was still putting up superstar numbers in PER, BPM and so on.

Durant these playoffs through games 1-3:

-4.9 BPM, 9 PER, -0.074

even depressed george in the bubble was playing better then that hahahaha

And then in 2021 he got cheap shot injured by ingles.

Kawhi by a large margin.

First star ever to leave championship team, and all that for early playoff exits every year.

Was he?

I recall him choking a 3 - 1 lead and playing really poorly in 2nd halves of Game 6 and 7.

He had a couple bad halves but look at his playoff numbers:

28 PER, 9.4 BPM, 59% TS

And even with the lone conference finals, the Clips got there in spite of Kawhit missing the last few games.:lol

good question. i'll say kd cuz of what team he left and why he left. he knew no one respected his rings and desperately wanted to prove he could win without a 73 win championship core already in place. he's failing miserably.

Durant actually got the average fan to take his stats at face value. And gave him, Shaq, or Jordan, or LeBron level credit for his GS rings.

Durant definitely lost more as far as perception. Both lost equal amounts on winning opportunities.

If they stayed in their cities it would’ve been GS vs Toronto, every other year in the finals, if not every year.

Realistically both moves failed equally, and both took massive hits on reputation, which I predicted a year before each happened. But Durant was seen as some banana demoigod. What KG actually was at his peak, people tended to think Durant was, but better offensively. Until now.

Kawhi also didn’t get humiliated in any series. So you know what, it’s Durant.

Both stints have been colossal disappointments overall, but I give the edge to Kawhi's move.

It seems people are already forgetting that Durant was a one-man wrecking crew against the Bucks last year. He was a literal inch away from beating the eventual champions without either of his costars healthy, notching the most points ever in a Game 7. Only a moral victory, but it's more impressive than anything Kawhi has accomplished in LA so far.

As bad as KD's flameout is this year, it's not quite as disgraceful as blowing a 3-1 lead with a 14-point, 6-22 Game 7 in the process. Kawhi seemed on-pace to redeem himself in 2021, except he ultimately hibernated on the sidelines as usual just when his team looked like title favorites.

Also Clippers made conference finals, best result in their history.
Whereas Nets best was second round.

Nets only won one series. Its clearly Durant. That Nets team is a historic failure.

For the record, Kawhi has played more games than Durant since the start of the 2019-2020 season.

Durant it's one thing to not win a title with Playoff Pete it's another thing to not with with Kyrie, Harden, Westbrook, CPIII, Booker, Simmons, and Ayton and leaving an all-time great Warriors team.
