View Full Version : Lakers need to lock Lebron into a max extension ASAP

LeLoyalty has delivered a chip and tirelessly given this organization every inch of his own "max extension." He deserves to be rewarded.

Not that it's even about that. They need to lock him up with a max strictly based on the MVP season he put up this year, and if they dont someone else will.

Now is the time for the Lakers to acquit themselves as the beacon of franchise stability and vision they were once reputed to be.

Get it done, Front Office.

Except it wont. Because with Lebron comes access to the entire Klutch sports roster.

If they want any hope of Mark Jackson ever coaching this team, they'd better deliver a max on a platter to LeBJ, ASAP.

lebron can't sign an extension. he's his sons only chance at making the nba

a 6'3 shooting guard with ok athleticism and an average shot that isn't even a top 60 prospect wouldn't get drafted unless it came with a lebron james signing

Doesnt matter, Lakers can just sign him to a rookie max as an undrafted free agent. So it ends up working out better that way.

theres a small chance someone might take him in the late 2nd round if lebrons not included and then lebrons ****ed and can't play with his son. he doesn't wanna risk it

Kobe was getting payed 25 million to average 17 points on 36% shooting in his last year. He was an absolute disgrace as a player, he robbed us of millions of dollars and it took years for us to recover from that. LeBron came in and took us to a chip just 4 years after that horrific season, not only that but had a better Finals performance at age 35 than any of Kobe's finals performances in his entire career.

Accept this fact and move on.

Except Kobe was there his whole career so Lakers had the responsibility to keep him there and retire as a Laker.

LeBron is different. He's been joining different teams.. ring chasing throughout his career.

Jerry West was a hall of fame player AND a hall of fame GM for us, did more for this franchise than any other person in history, yet that didn't stop the Buss family from revoking his lifetime season tickets.

Fixed.

The Lakers have proven over a huge sample size that they are lottery without Anthony Davis. 2019, 2021, and last year in the playoffs getting blown out after he got hurt.

AD dragged the shitty pelicans to the playoffs a handful of times and averaged 30+/10+ on 120 ORTG in those playoffs. Nobody wins with the pelicans dude... they're a shit tier franchise. His best teammate ever was old Rondo lol. LeBron couldn't even make the playoffs with Brandon Ingram who just balled out yesterday putting up a Wade / Kobe line. :lol It is what it is.

That's a lie, he played with a prime Jrue Holiday who is just coming off a championship and was Team USA's best point guard in the Olympics. The fact that the Pelicans were having multiple losing seasons with AD putting up that type of numbers should tell you his overall impact his limited.

If the best player he ever played with in all those years was jrue holiday that's saying something. "Prime jrue holiday". :lol

And the one year they actually advanced in the playoffs it was old Rondo who was making shit happen alongside AD. The ironic thing is LeBron had the same old Rondo with Brandon Ingram and Lonzo Ball yet he couldn't even make the playoffs out west. Thats quite telling.

The same old Rondo that only played 46 games that year?

Only difference is LeBron was leading crappy team deep into the playoffs well before he played with AD. AD has done absolutely nothing without LeBron

It's actually quite hilarious that a 37 year old LeBron is still considered a better player than current AD.

How does a team make the same idiotic mistake TWICE?

At least Kobe brought the Lakers more than just ONE title before ruining the team.

The Lakers didn't win anything when Kobe signed that contract. They gave him a 2 year deal AFTER he tore his Achilles, he was the worst player in the NBA while making like 25 mil a season.

LeBron is still an elite player and actually won us a chip. To compare Kobe's situation to current LeBron's is flat out retarded.

jrue holiday is the 2nd best player on a title favorite right now, dont look down on him lol. Granted he wasnt as good in NO but that also speaks to giannis vs AD.

To compare signing that contract with someone who was the face of your franchise for years and won five chips with current Bronie is flat out retarded.

But as I said, they should have learned from their mistake with Kobe. We'll see if they did or not.

Sorry, this is a business. Even though he was the face of the franchise, it doesn't excuse the horrible contract he received. Once a player's ability is not there it should be over, no matter who you are.

If you compare Kobe's last contract to the contract the Lakers gave LeBron, it isn't even close, LeBron's contract is 10x better for the team. Only a retard would disagree.

Ball and Ingram missed a combined 65gms that season, including the last 19 for B.I

Are you completely and utterly stupid?

Bronie hasn't signed the contract extension yet. It's not even available until August. And you're using his '21 and '22 stats to try to show what he produced AFTER the extension?? Do you live in a star gate where the future is the past?

You know what your problem is? You spout off completely low IQ crap, and when you get destroyed by someone who actually knows what they're talking about, instead of just conceding or admitting that you were wrong, you double down on stupid. Oh well, it just shows everyone what an idiot you are.
