At the expense of talking about LeBron.

Those years that allegedly didn't count back then, are the most glorified losing seasons ever, 20 years later.

I haven't seen many mj fans talk up the mj wizard years. There's wasn't a whole lot to say about it. I mean it was cool seeing a 40 year old compete and occasionally give the stars of the 2000's the buisness but overall it wasn't a success. Bron will probably experience the same thing over the next few years. Only difference is his stans will marvel at his individual play even though he won't be playing winning basketball.

He had to prove he could win without Pippen.

Stop throwing out blatantly false narratives. There's nothing remotely glorified about those Wizard years. They're seen as one of, if not the biggest black mark on Jordan's almost flawless resume outside of the 95 season. Jordan was a shell of his former self and the team sucked. Who isn't aware of that? The only reason he's not crucified for it more is because he already was seen as the GOAT by the time he came back and those teams had no expectations with a near 40 year old MJ.

The fact that Lebron, who is allegedly playing like an MVP candidate (on one end of the court), is going to finish this season with a worse record than either of those Wizard years, says more than enough.

Before that crippling knee injury as a 38 - 39 year old, only guy besides prime 23 year old Kobe averaging 25/5/5 with quality elite defense, was old Yoda Floor Jordan on the Wizards. And had the young relatively talentless Wiz on clear cut path to the playoffs. Already significantly improved from the year prior only winning 19 games the year prior? Coming off three years of retirement, atrophy, weight gain and a delayed come back due to Ron Artest breaking his ribs in pickup. You kidding me? Given context it is very impressive.

The Wizards met expectation and these Lakers have drastically underachieved the expectation

His years with the Wizards were interesting. They were a bad team, and really didn't have contending goals (unlike the Lakers). MJ looked very good before the injury. He would've looked even better if Artest didn't crack his ribs.

Pretty much this. No one was expecting anything from a 19 win Wizard team that added a near 40 year old MJ that had been on the couch drinking booze and smoking cigars for 3 years.

MJ's Wizards years are only brought up when Lebron fans try and drag him down to prop Lebron up. For logical fans, MJ's Wizards years are a footnote.

I can tell you one thing for sure...

No one was on a Wizards Championship cruise, before the seasons started

Whenever things go horrible for lebron, his stans automatically resort to making threads about kobe or MJ.
