not best player on best team, not best player carrying shit team to a playoff spot...it changes year to year on what the best story is. which is BS but going off of that it's probably gonna go to Embiid since he's dealt with Ben Simmons no-showing. It would go to Jokic if they were a higher seed and he was in a bigger market.

Jokic is gonna win running away
He's been the best player carrying the worst cast.
4th guy to repeat MVP in the past 10 years... which completely devalues Currys hype
Curry doesn't have MVP hype and his championships don't mean anything, no FMVP

I wouldn't call it a shit award, but the award on granting the person to lead others in fighting off death

Very rarely is the "best story" not on a top 2 seed. It's definitely not best player or lebron would have 15 of em.

Agreed. Pointless award with no substance. Steve Nash won 2 mvps and he's not even a top 40 player ever. The only mvp that matters is finals MVP.

if the finals MVP is a way to separate how big of a difference that player is to the rest of the league, sure, if not, it's just the Kenneth Griffin award

It's not gonna be Jokic, because he won last year and people are gonna hold him getting swept in the 2nd round against him

Jokic is most deserving and will probably win it.
But I'm pulling for Morant all the way!

nothing about narrative with Jokic.
The narrative would prefer Embiid or Morant actually.

Kawhit is the goat yet has never done anything to win the award. :ohwell:

Narrative is a factor in MVP, it's not everything so your OP is wrong
And you're way off... he's gonna win MVP convincingly
The better question is whose gonna get 2nd? Embiid or Giannis
My votes for Giannis.

the narrative with Morant is destroyed because of missed games and his team having 90+% win rate without him. Media members pay attention to this stuff. He doesn't have a good narrative

Giannis has been beasting lately, 31/13 since the break. He could definitely get 2nd and it is possible he wins it.
