View Full Version : lebron won't qualify for the scoring title LOL

John_Connor

lebrons played in 55 games. he needed 58

the lakers have twice as hard a schedule to finish the year as the spurs and pelicans. lebrons ankle injury will force him to shut it down to avoid further embarrassment and be able to have an excuse.

oh yeah and lebron is 9th in total points. his only chance to qualify having not played in 58 games would have been if his totals gave him the highest average when extended to 58 games. his 1657 points divided by 58 is only 28.5ppg

thats behind giannis and embiid sadly

anyone in the league can win the scoring title if all their team expects from them is the 11th seed in their conference. the problem is any other guy with that win % wouldn't sustain the green light and the team would try something different

sorry but when was kobe ever told that the 11th seed was good enough for him to lead the league in scoring. he gifted it to tmac in 2003 when Phil asked kobe to "dial it back cause shaqs upset".. then he sat the last game of the season when all he needed was like 35 to pass durant.

kobe cared more about team chemistry and the importance of health going into the playoffs. the only times he went for the scoring title was 2006 and 2007 when he HAD TO in order for them to make the playoffs. you saw what kobe averaged in 2005, 2014, 2015, 2016 when he knew it was a failed year. he didn't care about a meaningless scoring title. lebron obviously cares about his consolation prize

Nothing you type matters. Kobe was a selfish ball hog who consistently tried to score as many points as possible. MJ was the same way. That's why it's so interesting seeing lebron being forced into this role for the first time since he has had a reliable jumper. The results say it all. 30 ppg on higher scoring efficiency than peak mj/kobe. And the craziest part...he's 37. You lose. All of you lose. Nothing you type anymore matters. Lebron won. We won.

kobe rarely if ever was a guy that tried to score the most he could. we saw what he could do when he had a green light. 35ppg. 81 points in a game. 10 games of 50+ in a season..highest scoring pace in nba history. he has 8 to 10 years like that if you were anywhere close to being right

To make matters worse, LeBron always got his teammates involved with his great passing and STILL managed to averaged more points in the playoffs than Kobe who mostly focused on scoring...

kobe ran the triangle. it was a ball movement off ball movement offense. lebron just holds the ball like Luka and has a hand in every play. it's why his teams had to be gutted top to bottom to fill his every need and his power forwards and centers had to be stretch bigs. his teams had to trade away their futures just to make lebron halfway productive. if luka lost all his defenders and shooters his teams would be absolute trash as well. but kobe never needed shooters everywhere. he never had them. his teams manufactured smart baskets that even scrubs could make. easy cuts for 2. passing for the best look. kobe is the most adaptive player in nba history. lebron is the least adaptive. that's why when lebron doesn't have the right pieces he's near the bottom of the league while kobes dragging kwame and smash to game 7 vs the 2nd seed sun's and coming 1 rebound away from eliminating them.

lebron is a cancer. pure and simple. and you know it

he wasn't a hog compared to lebron. compared to shooting guards kobes actually one of the higher assist guys in the natural flow of the game. hogs are players that take others out of their natural flow and they suffer for your stats. Kobe had a cap on how much he could shoot when he was on contending teams. he would score 25 to 30 when in reality he was capable for 35 to 40 every night. he would take bad shots but they went in at a high enough rate that it was still a better option than most of his teammates wide open other than shaq or gasol. everyone else was a worse option. and those guys got theirs when playing with kobe so he wasn't taking anything away from them. even shaq in the 2004 finals scored way more than his season average. gasol got what he could as well. in fact gasol was eating so well that people thought he was a finals mvp caliber player and before he got to LA he was a salary dump 1 time allstar in 7 years. everyone played better with kobe so how is kobe a hog.

he wasn't a hog compared to lebron.

LeBron's hogging usually led to assists to open players for a bucket or a high percentage shot from him

Kobe's hogging usually led to him taking a low percentage shot

Kobe's hogging literately cost us a title in 2004 and ALMOST cost us in 2010. LeBron's hogging in 2018 for example led the Cavs to overachieve and make the Finals. Nothing good ever came out when Kobe hogged, opposite can be said for LeBron.

lebron literally hogs the ball for his statistical agenda twice as much as kobe. that's hard to do. but he does it. guys like him, Westbrook, luka, harden. it's an all time historic level of hogging. it only works if you have shooters everywhere and zero egos to deal with. you basically have to turn other alphas into kickstands. nobody can get a rhythm so you need guys that are automatic at all times. and ontop of all that those guys all need someone to bail them out at the end. Luka only on the free throw line at least. but the point is they're all incapable of working in a real offense cause they need their 30 and 10. you can't get that in a triangle.

lebron just isn't a good team basketball player. he can pass. but there's only evil intentions or beta mentality behind it as his motives

the best shot? you know a wide open layup is like 99.9% and a corner three by some no name dude role player is 30 to 40% right?

it's not the best shot. great offensive systems work the ball around and get open looks too. more often than lebrons 1 on 5 ball pounding system in fact. his system basically says "take it 1 on 1 or kick it for the 3 if they collapse on me. that's nice and will get you some open 3s. but a lot of the time teams are playing lebron straight up and he's not on fire. he's taking contested shots and so are his teammates a lot of the time. when you move and pass 4 or 5 times you can get a good look almost every time.

well thats just a bold faced lie. if he did he would have led the league in assists more than once

and i have no doubt lebron as an individual provided more open looks for teammates off HIS PASS than guys like kobe or jordan... but kobe and jordans offensive systems provided more open looks for role players.

i mean think of it like this. lebrons held the ball more than anyone and is a pass first guy yet his career assist average is only 7 a game. thats because his formula is flawed. he just relies on them doubling him or guys running off picks. its completely reliant on others... great playmakers and systems create their own opportunities.
