48 points and 20 rebounds. A dozen or so dunks.

He was said to be like 385 that year.

Just saying….

He was still ridiculously stupidly good that year. 27.5 PPG on 60.2% TS in a league that shot 51.9%

That was the first year I noticed a drop in his ability. Started missing a lot of those easy “chippies”.

You, Evo, and I think crisoner were still thinking that 4peat was happening though. Duncan got in that ass.

If Kobe didn’t bang up his shoulder on that Minnesota dunk and Mitch wasn’t lackadaisical about replenishing the supporting cast it would have.

Or if this just goes down

2003 was Shaq's last prime season. After that he clearly went down a step.

Its increible how he was able to move and jump with that extra weight. You can tell though he wasn't in his prime anymore.

Idk if this video is 02-03 season or the next one, but 2004 Shaq was really out of shape and with Kobe's recent off court problems and Malones injury, in hindsight, they were supposed to lose to Detroit but the odds were based on pure reputation

Isn't this quite late into the season? Maybe he already got into shape by this point.

"fat" lakers shaq was still unstoppable.

"out of shape" shaq was still averaging like 38 minutes a game.

the "fit" guys that were guarding him were tired a.f. before he was. :oldlol:

He could still dominate on the boards & on offense due to his size but he was a shell of himself on defense and teams took advantage of that.

You're ****ing high :oldlol:

2004 was the biggest upset in Finals history. Many thought it was going to be an LA sweep. Odds were made once both teams come out of their conference.

Your boy sabotaged the series for LA while getting locked up by 2nd year T. Prince.

nobody ever said he sucked offensively in 2003. Kobe, Phil and fans were mad at him because of his health and unavailability. choosing to get surgery at the start of the season so he could enjoy his summer. saying he would heal on company time cause he was hurt on company time. he was lazy at times and especially in defense. he said "if you don't feed the dog the dog won't guard the house." then went to Phil during kobes 40 point streak and demanded kobe end it because "they were losing shaq" ... which ultimately began all the drama between the 2. it wasn't even the rape trial. it was shaqs bitterness and jealousy. he was angry how everyone was gushing over kobe and not him. shaq later admitted in their 1 on 1 interview that he was lazy all off-season and during the regular season because he knew he had kobe to carry him to the playoffs so he could go out partying every night while Kobe was in the gym training and waking up at 4am.

shaq caused their breakup. he told kobe he couldn't win without him. boy was he wrong

and shaq being so out of shape is why Ben Wallace bullied him for positioning on offensive rebounding opportunities all series. he couldn't even get to the string side and was pinned to the weak side by wallace half the time which is why kobe had to force it up. he had zero lateral movement and needed a jump start just to waddle his way up the floor.
