Why Do Different Teams Have Different Number of Preseason Games?

The Hawks have 4, while the Heat have 6 for example. Doesn't seem fair that some teams get more opportunities to get their conditioning and system/rotation right.

I think some of them used to occur outside of uncle sam as well.

Most teams have 4-5. You could also think with more preseason games, there's more chance of injury in meaningless games.

This is the NBA - they try to get early season injuries to make vegas count.

I think some teams take preseason more serious than others, that's why some teams play more games.
