Sad!

What would Kobe do?

Jordan wouldn't have quit if he lost to Barkley.. He would've trudged forward like 11' Kobe or 14' Wade after their failed 3-peats..

Only his unprecedented dominance and winning (40 ppg and 3-peat) allowed him the luxury to retire

Jordan would agree with this, except he'd say that he would never have lost to Barkley, which is true assuming KJ was hurt again

Jordan is a literal proven quitter. Literally retired three times like a record holding fraud.

To be fair Jordan never actually quit during the season. He retired after the season was over. Not quite the same as quitting in the in the middle of the season or the middle of a game.

He retired weeks before the season was to start in early October and gave no one a heads up. He then continued to collect his paycheck from his contract despite not playing. Part of his reasoning to quit in his own words was due to the mental exhaustion associated with being a celebrity basketball player. Yet he's never criticized for any of this.

He took a lot of criticism and was mocked for thinking he could play major league baseball.

His father died which undoubtedly played a role in his decision and also in the press and their treatment of him.

His contract was what, $4 million? Considering how much he made off Jordan i doubt the owner minded.

This is this era's mentality bruh. These are the youth that bron is going up against. A participation generation. A generation that thinks pressure is a mental health issue. A generation that thinks kids being kids is bullying. generation that promotes boys kissing. Every generation gets softer than the generation before it. This has been the case for awhile now. This generation has taken it to a whole new level. Weird thing is people like you deny it.

True dat.

"Quitting" is now seen as "courageous" as one now has the "courage" to confront their mental illness. Where I come from, we call that quitting. And don't mention Osaki. She plays an individual sport and told everyone in ADVANCE she would not participate. Biles literally quit mid-competition and let her teammates down.

MJ quitting wasn't as bad because he didn't do it right before the finals. But he did quit and did it a couple weeks before the season started without giving anyone a heads up and in his own words cited mental exhaustion. So pardon me if I find it funny to see MJ fanboys almost proud of his retirement "he got bored of winning! derp!" and on the other hand vilify Simon Biles. :oldlol:

I mean sure the memes are funny and all but let's snap back to reality. LeBron James is 100 times more mentally tough that Baldan. Baldan retired from the sport three times. He had a 3-peat retirement for crying out loud, He was the 1st 3-peat retirement

Actually the better comparison is Phelps and MJ. Both went out on top after the 3 peat for MJ and Phelps the Gold Medals/Finals MVP's.
