That's what wrong with the younger generation, they want participation awards :facepalm Jim Kelly led the Bills to an unprecedented 4 straight superbowls and has zero rings to show for it, never hear his name being tossed around in the GOAT QB discussion. He was a damn good QB too but imagine had he won a few or if he managed 4 straight chips, he would undoubtedly be in the GOAT discussion.

Ask Jim Kelly if he regrets playing in those superbowls.

Not regretting being in the finals is one thing. Celebrating it as a form of victory is another. I dont think anyone (barkley, malone, miller) ever really regrets reaching the finals. But they don't call themselves "winners" because they reached the second to the highest place. If anything they might consider that memory as difficult because they knew they could have won if they just did a few more things differently. There is dissatisfaction in those memories because you want to win in the finals. You dont revel being in second place.

Careful on ring talk

Russell has nearly double MJ's rings
LeBron has nearly double MJ's playoff points

Real winners lose early? No, not correct.

When you are favored to win, then win. That is the point. When you are favored to win but lose and you going missing like in 2011, that is not a winner.

Ask a role players wallet if it matters what round it'd rather lose in.

OP is literally bringing up the fact that Lebron made more finals than Jordan like it's something to brag about

Jordan has 6 rings, Lebron has 4 that's all that matters

Making 4 more finals doesn't mean f*ck all if you don't have the rings to show for it

Yes making the finals is a bigger achievement than losing in the first round but not to the extent Lebron stans make it out to be

It's the same. Lebron assembled a superteam and was expected to win not 7 championships. Lest you forget, they were expected to dominate the league. Point is. It's fine to lose whether in the 1st round or the finals or not make the PO's at all, however the circumstances must align. The 2011 superteam should have won and they didn't. That is a big blow. That is not tantamount to lebron losing to the spurs in 2007. People dont complain about that.

Real winners win it all, losing in the Finals is ultimately the same result as losing in the first round, you failed to win the title.

This right here. To show that we aren't just hating for the sake of hating, we hardly bring up 2007 against LBJ, we understand context...LeBron was still a kid, first time ever to the Finals, got out of a shit EC when Detroit was a shadow of it's 2004 glory days and right before the Big 3 Celtics. Cleveland got exposed by the Spurs, LeBron shit the bed but hey, he was still a youngster. 2011 though, that was a huge black mark, so was 2014 and 2018. Dude has gotten absolutely destroyed in the Finals numerous times, ain't nothing to brag about losing 6 Finals :facepalm
