I get why Dirk and Luka would win this poll. I do. For many reasons that are too obvious to go into.

Im just saying…..despite what numbers tell those of you who exclusively listen to them….it would be totally hilarious watching a league with freedom of movement rules and 4-5 shooters at all time trying to keep Allen Iverson out of the paint while playing at the pace they currently do.

You wouldn’t even be seeing all those crossovers. He was too nasty off the ball and explosive on the catch. He’d be walking into the lane and finding shooters all over. Despite his reputation he loved passing to shooters. Kyle Korver tells all kinds of stories on AI taking him under his wing and making him be aggressive. Korver career highs in shots didn’t come as he became a respected vet and all star. It came with AI looking for him all night. He took more shots on the 76ers than he did when the Hawks were actually running plays for him.

AI would be creating threes and scoring at will with these open paints and Embiid taking even the opposing 5 out of the lane.

Be a hell of a duo.

Considering fit and talent

1) KG and Tatum - I like how KG isn't a high usage guy and can fit next to Tatum. They are also the best defensive duo


2) embiid and Iverson - embiid can cover a lot of iversons defensive weaknesses and efficiency weaknesses

3) Barkley and Booker - the best player that Barkley ever has. So I will give Barkley the benefit of the doubt here. Although I don't care for their defense.


4) luka and Dirk. Just another version of Dirk and Nash that never went to the finals. Horrible defense drops them down to last place for me. Dirk was actually an average defender but luka is historically bad for an all time great

Joel would've been the best talent AI ever paired with, and he could mix it up with outside shooting. They'd be a handful to stop in any era. You're right about Dirk and Luka.

Which version of KG we getting? Assuming it's peak 04 KG, Tatum/ KG duo is relatively low usage and the only 2way duo. They'll be the easiest to build around.

AI/ Embiid is my personal favorite though.

He also did some posting up and playmaking at the elbow. I haven't seen anyone do any significant t playmaking alongside Luka. I honestly am struggling to recall Luka taking a spot up shot at the moment lol.
