He never, ever coached the celtics in 08-09. The amazing roster they had coach THEMSELVES to the championship in 08. Doc Rivers did nothing but patting Garnet, Pearce, Allen and Rondo's back during that run.

It would be irrelevant if he wasn't present those years for them.

Thinking just now, the 08 Celtics SHOULD've repeated maybe even threepeated but they never did, because of DOC RIVERS, injuries was just an excuse that helped his case back then.

I never really spoke about Stevens since I joined the forum (not that long ago) , but in my eyes, Danny Ainge was the one the brought the wrong pieces and misery to the franchise and one of the main reasons why they have been struggling for years. Stevens simply didn't have the necessary pieces to achieve success in his run and a huge part of that was not having enough good shooters to surround Jason Tatum, other attack weapons to simply score! That's one of the things,
I saw going on with them and i'm no specialist for that franchise at all. The celtics are playing the WRONG style of basketball for over 12 years now, they simply won't advance putting the pieces of that puzzle together because lots of the pieces were missing in the first place.

Destroying the kid's career once and for all by favouring wrong behaviour, habits and passing a FALSE NARRATIVE that everything was FINE during the whole REGULAR SEASON. A bad scorer that plays good defense is called DEFENSIVE ROLE PLAYER - that's what Pippen and Simmons are - Pippen averaged 15.7 on 40% in 2 Finals, and 19.0 on 42% for his Finals career.

Simmons is actually a much better passer and rebounder, with equal scoring.. the only difference is that he didn't have MJ to emulate and light that fire under him
