View Full Version : If you could change only 1 outcome of the 15 Finals series the Lakers fell short in,

I'd choose 1969 because West and Baylor would have finally beaten the Celtics which would have been an amazing feeling for the both of them when you consider how much they suffered as players due to the Celtics dynasty.

Honourable mentions go to

2008- Kobe 3peating without Shaq and beating the Celtics twice would’ve done wonders to his legacy.

2004- I wanted redemption for 2003, 4 titles in 5 years would be amazing.

1970 against the Knicks, only if 3 pointers existed that time for West.

1991- Perfect retirement for Magic. Jordan’s retirement but even better. And Jordan stans would such as 3ball would finally STFU.

2008. Kobe was still in the process of turning Pau into a man.

Game 4 of that 2008 final series when the Lakers blew a 24 point lead at home is still one of the most painful losses I have endured as a lifelong Lakers fan as how we lost that game from that position I will never know.

I always pretend that game didn't happen. No words.

I still believe if we had a healthy Trevor Ariza in the finals that year to guard Pierce that we win the title that year.

Not having Bynum for that finals series hurt but Azria would have been the key for the Lakers winning that series as he would have been a far better defender to throw at Pierce over the course of a 7 game series.

The Lakers winning the title in 1991 would have utterly silenced Jordan fanboys for decades to come as Magic and Bird fans would have used that loss against Jordan in almost all of their arguments.

It's true, people forget that, it's frustrating thinking about it. Kobe was beating Spurs with Walton & Radmonovic as starters. Playing with 8 fingers and a ****ed up knee. Sad.

That's an interesting one. Magic did great with that 91 team still. 91 MJ was too much.

If Kobe wins in 2008 then that means the Celtics wouldn't have won a single title since 1986 to the Lakers now 8 titles.

Can you imagine KG and Pierce heartbreak if they couldn't milk that one single title they won for the next 15 years.

That series goes the full distance if both Worthy and Byron Scott were both fully healthy.

I mostly blame the 2007-08 Lakers for losing the NBA finals which gave morons like Big Baby and Kendrick Perkins a platform to spew awful takes on national television.

91 Lakers with those healthy guys would've made a world of difference, absolutely. I hate 2004 just as much as 08. Bad times.

maybe if Kobe could have shot over 41% you could have won, too.

Maybe if Lebron could have shot over 39% in the 2015 finals and played well in game 4 then the Cavs could have won the title that year.

He should have copied lebron against that same team

If Kobe plays as bad as Lebron did against the Celtics in 2008 through the first four games then Kobe most likely gets swept.
