The Nets have an alright head coach in Nash just as the 1969 Lakers had with Vbk.

The Nets have a scoring machine in Durant who has a very sensitive personality and ego just like Wilt had.

James Harden is similar to Jerry West in that they both posted monster numbers in close losses and were unable to beat the stacked team of their eras.

Plus just as Baylor hated Wilt for taking his touches away and getting in his way on offence we might see that with Kyrie and Harden now that they are teammates.

Also, all three of them are trying to dethrone a 36-year-old Lebron just as that infamous Lakers big three was trying to dethrone a 36-year-old Russell and his Celtics in 1969.

Not a bad comparison. The 69 Lakers would have been a lot more solid defensively, though, since both Wilt and West were excellent defenders, inside and perimiter.

Yes the Lakers were a lot more solid defensively but I feel that if Wilt was made the main offensive option of that 1969 Lakers team that they would have been even better offensively then they were that season.

As letting a declining Baylor take all the shots over Wilt in the postseason proved to be a disaster for the Lakers and it is a key reason why they lost to the Celtics in the finals that season.

[X] 3 elite spacers and shooters (off-ball)

[X] 3 elite iso guys (on-ball)

[X] 3 veterans in prime

[X] capacity for goat strategy/chemistry due to interchangeability of players

the prime, veteran status of these 3 guys is key

People don't realize that 98' MJ probably beats the Bucks in 85' ... Or 18' lebron probably win it all in 09' or 15'

Well clippers are still going to beat their choking asses in the finals. So I guess that makes Kawhi the Bill Russell and Paul George the John Havlicek.

Clippers are going to get destroyed by the Lakers in the playoffs if they match up against each other so you don't have to worry about the Clippers making the finals this year.

Paul George is a choker that will be once again exposed under pressure in the playoffs and that will cost the clips for the second straight year in the playoffs.

It was largely due to the fact that Baylor and Chamberlain both shared the same proclivity for the left side of the court. Baylor already developed a complementary relationship with Jerry West where he would work outside in from the right side, and Baylor would work from inside on the left, and this worked for nine years. In 1968 the Lakers traded for Chamberlain, so he was joining something already established.

With Chamberlain stationed on the left block, clogging the lane, Baylor couldn't work his pump fake and drive game. That is why Butch van Breda Kolff asked Chamberlain to work out of the high post, so Baylor would find the inside lane less congested. The problem was that Breda Kolff was inflexible, and wanted to win his way.

Now, since Nash is less of an egomaniac, and already has D'Antoni on his staff, he is better equipped to deal with James Harden's new infusion on the Nets. The problem isn't Harden.

It will be Kyrie Irving who has a history of flaking when things get tough in the locker room.
