How would you compare point guards Trae Young and Ja Morant?
What would you say each player is better at?

Young a very Hardenesque 15-17 from the FT line.

Trae has a complete offensive game, can do it all. If one aspect of his game isn't working he can go into his bag. His defense is much improved this year and he has some help this year.
Ja, plays with spirit and will allows his team to feed off his intensity. His footwork in the paint and floater are on point. His outside shot is improving but his offensive skill set is still limited.
Ja is being asked to do what Trae had to do all last season which is to carry a large offensive load, I don't think he is ready for it. Ja plays much better when he has talented around him to take offensive load off him.

Trae is a very talented player, but his size is just tough for me.
He's listed at 6'1, but he looks smaller than Chris Paul and his wingspan is poor as well. His measurables just make defense extremely difficult.

Trae style of play is more appropriate for this era.
And more importantly Trae is more clutch...

Very true, but he doesn't have to be a defensive juggernaut, he needs to be able to play solid team defense and show effort. He is already a top 5 scorer and assist maker. The Hawks have two young wings who are both able to guard 1s,2s, and 3s so they will just give Trae the weakest offensive player. Ja is not a solid defender either they both will need to continue to improve on that side of the ball.
