I’ll give my top 5.

1. Vince Carter
2. Shaquille O’Neal
3. Kobe Bryant
4. Gilbert Arenas
5. Tim Duncan

I started watching basketball right before the Lakers went on their 3 peat and as a kid I obviously liked the winners so the lakers became my team. Which explains the shaq and Kobe spots. My first hand me down jersey was Vince Carter and he became and stayed my favorite player this entire time. I’m from dc so I had a natural attachment to the wizards and Gilbert became one of my favorites over the years and I love his personality. And watching all the battles with the spurs all those years I gained nothing but respect and love for Timmy. Who are your favorites and why?

1. LeBron
2. Chris Paul
3. Curry
4. Kobe
5. Nash

Because I play point guard in real life I have a love for point guards and players that make everyone else better.

I like Kobe because of his "mamba mentality" and work ethic is inspiring.

Shaq
Hakeem
Grant Hill
Eddie Jones
Dirk Nowitzki

Eddie Jones was the first player I've seen in his rookie year. Absolute smooth game. Same for Grant Hill. Shaq was my fav from the get go. Him joining the Lakers was a perfect match for me.

I started to appreciate Hakeem later on and I just love Dirk's game and personality.

I really liked KD prior to all the GS bs. Still my favourite active player from a game standpoint, but his personality is so weird and off putting.

Same for Kyrie.

Also with this being said I think a lot of the reason I enjoy so many non pgs is because they could play at a different level than I could ever achieve. Being 6”1 the only person on my list I could possibly replicate would be Gil. I think I had an infatuation watching the big men and high flyers doing things I would never be able to do made them more “superhero” for me. Even some of my favorite pgs were insane athletically though baron davis, Steve Francis, later on Derrick Rose , Westbrook etc. I still enjoyed players like Steve Nash, Jason Williams, Tony Parker (while he was a good athlete I don’t put him with those others.) I also loved the point guards with the ball on a string like rod strickland, rafer Alston , Kyrie, etc.

1. Shaq
2. MJ
3. Magic
4. D-Wade
5. Kawhi

Shaq cuz it seemed like nobody could stop him. And he always seemed funny.
MJ cuz his game was smooth. Jump very high. Hang time. Did pretty much everything.
Magic cuz of passing and the shot selection. And he always smiled but super competitive lol
D-Wade he was explosive in his prime. Did crazy lay ups.
Kawhi cuz he seems like a slower mj/kobe with the 3pt shot.

I really wanted to put magic in my 5 but I wasn’t alive to watch him in person so I left him out for others I was alive to watch play. I do have his jersey on my wall though along with multiple other lakers greats I never got to see in person. The appreciation is definitely there for me but I have to keep my favorites to those I actually got to watch live.

Eddie Jones was great!

I'm still upset when the Lakers got beat by the Jazz in 98. I always felt that team could go far. Shaq, Kobe, Eddie Jones and Nick Van Exel. I still feel that team had more talent than the 3peat team. But the egos got in the way.

And I always thought Pat Riley made a mistake when they got rid of Eddie Jones in 05 with the Heat. And Damon Jones.

Another one of my faves was Michael Finely back in the day.

I never saw him in his prime unforunately. Saw him in 96. And my dad taped the 91 Bulls vs Lakers. I watched it a few times, but I was a kid tho. I always liked him. I watched some vids of his playoff games, but it would've so sweet to watch him consistently in the 80s. He was/still kind'a is like the king of LA lowkey. Kobe was too. RIP.

Me either which as you said is very unfortunate. I’ve watched all the YouTube highlights and a ton of games on the nba app which has multiple games and on ESPN classic. I’ve seen enough of those to where being that great of a player and on my favorite team he’s definitely one of my favorites. Like I said I’ve got his jersey on my wall i just don’t think I have the same attachment to him as those I grew up watching. But yes duo kings imo RIP Kobe.

Yeah but tbf the heat got Antoine Walker , Jason Williams , James posey and something else in that trade. They eventually won the title that year and I think those 3 had much to do with it.

unless that trade happened in 04-05 instead of 05-06 but it ended in a title eventually anyways.

shaq, dirk, lebron, cp3, pierce. idk why but i just like pierce though he's an idiot. deron was pretty great running an offense. like dray on defense. jokic and bam are fun, big fan of passing big men. also have a soft spot for big men who catch lobs like chandler and jordan though they're admittedly not skilled.

Definately, but still a pity that he missed titles by a hair twice. Also think he wouldn't have fared worse as a 3rd scorer than Rice on that 2000 team and could have stayed for the whole e peat. Van Exel was good, but a moron.

Magic was the one who got me into watching b-ball but ofcourse Sir Charles is my favorite. Bird is the one i most admire and respect because of his heart, toughness and skills over his lack of athleticism.

1-Barkley
2-Bird
3-Magic

The NBA had more passion in the 80s and early 90s.

Those are my favorites.
