Who do you think wins in a best of 7 series?? Curry, Klay and Dray vs. Malone, Stockton, Hornacek

Its hard to say. The pre kd warriors were overrated. They only had 1 chip and it was a huge asterisk. Warriors still gave up 2 games with bron missing his 2nd and 3rd best guy and bron didnt even shoot that well. Cavs win that series if healthy. If mj lost pip and rodman jazz would have a chip too. The jazz just wernt as exciting as the warriors so most people will say the warriors. Its a coin flip for me but if i had to chose i would probably say the warriors by a hair.

2016 Warriors with their suspensions and injuries would not be able to beat the 1997 Jazz.

The '97 jazz had a better run otw to the finals. It only took them 14 games in the playoffs to be the western champs while the '16 warriors still had to undergo 17 games in order to achieve the same feat.

The 2016 Warriors are better. 2026 Warriors had Curry clearly still inconsistent off the injury, so if you factor that in it changes everything, no?

Do we know in advance that MVP-Curry won't exist and he'll get outplayed by Stockton just like Kyrie outplayed him?

If so, I'll say Jazz in 5 because Malone won't wet the bed for the first 4 games like Lebron did in 16' - the 16' Finals only went 7 because lebron played far below his capabilities in games 1-4 (24 and 6 TO's)

Would the 2016 Spurs or 2016 Thunder been able to beat the 1997 Utah Jazz? Then the Warriors would be able to too. The Jazz don't have the offense and they wouldn't have the perimeter defense either.

Warriors in 5

Klay Thompson might win a finals mvp being guarded by Jeff Hornacek. Curry would torch John Stockton. Karl Malone would elbow draymond green and gets suspended.

With late '90s rules, the '16 Warriors might beat the '97 Jazz, but they definitely aren't beating the '98 Jazz, which just breezed through the playoffs until the 1998 NBA Finals

Yeah, in fact the '98 jazz swept the lakers in the wcf, a potential team consisting of o'neal, a young bryant, fisher and co., while overcoming a two-time champion in the rockets as well but the mudslingers think the jazz are mediocre just because they have hornacek.

Based on him being white?

What else is this idea based on?

Nope because Klay Thompson is a legit 6'6". And Hornacek is 6'2". Abby hornacek measured his dad lately. 2016 Thompson is better than 1997 Kobe and Eddie Jones.

Hornacek wasn't Hornacek by the time the Jazz made the finals. At his peak he was 20/5/5 and 19/4/7 and being compared to prime Miller in Sports Illustrated as in the tier of East SG's behind MJ and Dumars (along with Reggie Lewis and Hersey Hawkins).

By 97' he was 15/3/2 at age 33 and 14/3/4 at age 34 in 98'.

Some of the confusion is Hornacek was a good player in his prime but he, along with Stockton, were incapable of being a competent second scorer so defenses could key on Malone absent a second scorer in 97' or 98'. Stockton/Hornacek scored 27 PPG combined in the 97' finals and 20 PPG combined in the 98' finals. If Utah had prime Hornacek they win those series because he could give them second option scoring.
