He called them an underrated team. And even Coach Popovich said it was the best Spurs team of all time. They won 60 games. Defeated the Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks, Los Angeles Lakers, and New Jersey Nets in the playoffs.

Maybe had they unleashed Ginobili. But they were pretty much a one-man team thru much of that run. Duncan was insane in the Finals but Jason Kidd's amazingness still took them to 6. They wouldn't have against the Bulls.

Whenever I think that KG was maybe a bit better than a peak Duncan, I remember peak Duncan. I think that he was in his prime until 2004. That next year he was himself, but the season after I saw him managing his load a lot more, and I also saw him straining for things that came more easily to him even a year before. A friend of mine who agreed with that assessment compared it to Shaq, which is extreme. I compare it to someone like Derek Jeter, who the year after his peak season was pretty much his rookie self (great player tho), but with better defense.

That and, to be fair, Duncan probably started having knee issues back then.

I would love to see this series. I would take the Bulls in 7 though

2003 Spurs having trouble against the 49 win Nets definitely proved that the team was kind of overrated.

The Bulls would win because Jordan wouldn’t lose. Duncan was competitive but was ok with losing sometimes. He’d go home and be fine

Spurs had defenders to throw at Jordan. He’d probably score 30 a game but on pretty low efficiency.

But Duncan wouldn’t let Rodman clean up like he did again the Jazz.

I think Duncan would be like 25/14 in the series but the Bulls win game 7 at home

what about bruce bowen ,hes defensive player of the year, dont think he would stop jordan.

No..? He’d force him in to occasional bad shots, hence why I said his efficiency wouldn’t have been great.

Let not forget the Bulls missed Pippen for half the season. They probably win 67-68 games if he plays the whole season.

Bulls in 6

Spurs guards struggled mightily against the Nets, imagine what type of damage the Bulls trio of Jordan, Pippen, Harper could do? Bulls in 5-6

Was that year where the magic beans gave LeBron temporary skill.
