Ron Artest was the Rodman of his era. I don't understand why Rodman thinks he's capable of shutting down LeBron if he defends him 1 on 1. LeBron would get his usual numbers . Just watched him belittled LeBron in all of his interviews. I liked Rodman as a kid, but he is way over his head if he thinks he's capable of playing mind games against LeBron.

While Lebron was destroying Artest on the court... Kobe was recruiting him to form a super team :(

Drexler averaged 26/8/5 against Rodman and MJ in the Finals

Drexler also averaged 27/7/7 during his prime years, and his Finals runs exceed Lebron's 07' and 11' runs - MJ beat a better version of 07/11 lebron - the stats are clear on this

Infact, Drexler was a Kawhi-caliber player that was completely hidden in the Northwest while everyone fawned over MJ - his blazers had superior defenses to the 1st three-peat Bulls - people don't realize they had far more wing athleticism than the bulls (Drexler, Kersey, Cliff Robinson, Buck Williams), plus all-stars Terry Porter and Duckworth at PG and C - completely stacked... Again, they were hidden in the Northwest

I think Magic Johnson is not bad by comparing with Lebron
Magic Johnson = 19.5/11.2/7.2

Was this in the playoffs? Or are you referring to the regular season?

Regular season. LeBron never played against Artest in the playoffs.

Ron idolizing Rodman and trying to copy the same type of crazyness and mind games doesnt mean they are the same type of player. Ron was the better one on one defender with quicker hands but he was an average athlete especially when he decided to put on weight. He had great balance and positioning in defense but had trouble with faster and quicker players and would also be unable to recover against screens

While Rodman was a goat level athlete at his peak with enough speed strength and quickness to legit guard all 5 positions on the court. He also had a higher basketball iq on both ends despite not being a scorer on offense. He also got in the head of players with his various methods while Artest oftentimes tried to do this but he was also the first one to snap and retaliate.

Duckworth might well be the worst all-star of all time. Dude sucked.

Rodman would not shut Lebron down because the truly transcendent greats cannot be consistently shut down by one individual, it takes a team effort. However, Dennis Rodman was a great defender who could guard multiple positions at a high level displaying the versatility of Draymond Green defensively, while being a far better rebounder. I think Rodman could do as admirable a job defending Lebron as anyone. Anyone who says in response to this that JJ Barea shutdown Lebron, that didn't happen, he only guarded him for a half dozen possessions the whole series in 2011.

Exactly. Except rodman wasn't much of a perimeter defender since 91 or so when he started like artest to put on extra muscle and weight. Became a Post defender but still a weird comparison from this young bronsexual, as expected.

This is false. He averaged 27/7/7 against Ron for his career, but half of those games came when Ron was washed up. His shooting splits aren't that great (49/30/72) and he averaged 6.8 assists to 3.9 turnovers. Took Lebron 8 games before he finally dropped 30 on Ron in 2007. Those numbers are heavily inflated from the games peak/prime James had against an old version of Artest, who was also playing on a Lakers team that wasn't that good defensively.
