Once the Thunder retired Nick Collison's number I knew that jersey retirements had once and for all lost all significance. Collison might have been a lifer with the Sonics/Thunder franchise, but they haven't even retired the jersey of Mr. Sonic himself, Nate McMillan. The ceremonies used to mean more, like when the University of Montana retired Larry Krystkowiak's jersey for an esteemed career with lots of league records in the Big Sky Conference.

No. If they retired his jersey then they should retire Horace Grant's as he did just as much if not more during the first threepeat and also played there longer. Neither should have their numbers retired, though.

Rodman did more for the Bulls than Collison did for the Thunder, but not by some decisive measure.

To me, if you even have to ask, they shouldn't have their number retired. Like making the HOF, a retired jersey should be a no doubt decision, not something that even needs to be asked or debated
