The 76ers 4th option was averaging over 15 ppg on +50% , hard to overcome that even for Magic and Kareem.

I couldn't even find another Finals team that had a 4th option pouring in 15 on 50%+. Crazy.

Moses was a terrible match up for Kareem. Just too physical for Kareem.

The Lakers did even better in the '82 Finals

https://www.basketball-reference.com/playoffs/1982-nba-finals-lakers-vs-76ers.html

They had five guys averaging 16+ ppg. What's crazy is Magic was not only just fifth in scoring that series, he didn't even lead the Lakers in assists

Damn bruv, mother of god, back to back years too

#4 option scoring 15 ppg or more on 50% or more
1983 Sixers: Maurice Cheeks
1982 Lakers: Bob McAdoo *5th option too, Magic Johnson

Moses bullied them. The 76ers were already a great team in the years before but could never quite make it. Then they swapped Dawkins for Moses and blew everyone out of the water. Moses, Dr J, Toney, Cheeks, Bobby Jones. That is pretty damn stacked.

What is wild is this team after looking unbeatable, the very next year lost 3 games in Philly and got eliminated in the first round by the Nets. 76ers had a rough season with a fair amount of injuries and started to show their age. The young Nets team came out and bullied the bullies. Michael Ray Richardson played the series of his life after suffering from cocaine addiction. A young Buck Williams stepped up and dominated them on the inside. They got worn out and lost game 5 at home.

A rookie Charles Barkley reenergizes the team the following year but they run into peak Larry Bird and get eliminated in the conference finals.

Then, after losing to the Bucks in the second round, management makes the dumbest trades possible during the 1986 draft. They really haven't been title contenders since.

it had to take the coronavirus for insidehoops message board to realize how great the 1982 76ers were.

Not only did the Sixers sweep the Lakers in the Finals...

...In the ECF, they took the Bucks - arguably a better team than the Lakers - in just 5 games after the Bucks SWEPT the Celtics in the previous round.

My favorite team ever. That starting 5 is disgusting.

Just looking at the rebounding numbers; Moses grabbed more than twice as much boards as Kareem did for the whole series. Even outscored him.

Crazy because Dr. J is adamant about Kareem being his personal GOAT. You'd think he'd take the Dirk way and ignore Kareem like Dirk ignores Bron.

well, the show time Lakers were a team that couldn't do pump fakes, and the 83 sixers were a team that strived at getting the best shot after contact.

Moses very underrated. Top 10 All Time Center!
