brutal but good move. Boogie won't be anything to being playoff ready. how the Heck can Lebron or AD load manage down the stretch as well ? this only means Morris is a done deal and possibly one more play maker

Logic suggests this means they've absolutely given up on the very IDEA that he might help them in the playoffs. Bad news for Cousins more than anything.

Yeah, I don't get that one either.

Can't wait to see how the Clippers bench looks in the next few weeks, after they bulked it up in trade deadline week.

Would be funny if the Clippers sign him.

And then Cousins hits huge buckets against the Lakers in the playoffs

Would be funny if the Clippers sign him.If:

1. DeMarcus is physically able to ever play dominant basketball ever again....

2. Doc KNOWS (not thinks) he can keep competitive fire lit under DeMarcus crazy ass AND prevent him from being a locker room cancer...

3. True bargain basement price, little to no gauaranteed money, highly incentivized short term contract.

Then sure, sign DeMarcus.

Man, that guy is way too washed up, they know he is ring chasing.

Why he just can't go back to his 25/10 mode...injuries hurt him too much?

He’d done

He should be 100% for next season..

Work towards being a dominant big, not bringing the ball up for acrobatic layups or that type of shit.. spot up for 3, or dominate inside. Love the lakers to bring him back, someone will pick him up for sure

That’s terrible, wanted to see him play in a Lakers uniform. This Morris brother sucks if you ask me, the good one is on the Clippers. There is no indication Cousins is washed up when he came back to the Warriors last year he did fine, he wasn’t going to average 25 and 10 on that Warriors team. Unfortunately he got hurt again this summer.

This Morris brother is very similar to his brother throughout career stat wise almost identical which makes sense being twins.. Marcus slightly more consistent shooter keef is little better in post and they are similar defenders.

It's time for Cousins to start preparing for his post-NBA career. Dude is 29 years old and he won't be exactly a sought after FA next summer. He's injury prone and still has behavior issues.

And all of that is a gamble that they can take because he'd be on a prorated vet minimum deal

Achilles injuries and Knee injuries back to back are serious and players don't return back full strength from Achilles injuries and the Lakers are signing Morris to get instant contribution instead of just waiting for years on someone who might not last anyway.

Unless there's a brake through in medical science and Achilles injuries Boogie looks to be out anyway or just a monitored bench player.

The evidence speaks for itself and players numbers drop off after Achilles injuries and their minutes also drop off according to the studies.

https://www.sbnation.com/nba/2018/1/27/16940178/nba-achilles-injury-history-kevin-durant-golden-state-warriors-future

The Lakers are looking to win now and Boogie knows this and this is just the way things happen and real life the Lakers need that other big body and scoring to counter the Clippers big moves because just loading up on talent doesn't always work.

The Clippers are just taking everything trying to stop other teams like the Lakers to get better and this strategy might backfire on the Clippers.

They are letting him still rehab at Laker team facilities, I heard that they are making this move because they know he won’t be able to return this year anyway and will offer him another 1 year deal in the offseason.

yeah, this is what i saw too.
apparently this move is for lakers to get a spot open to get someone who can contribute without waive Daniel/Cook, while let cousins stay focused on rehab, and he can come back next season.

now this is a good move.

Reports where?

Don't see why they'd take it so personal. He wasn't playing anyway, he made room for an able body to help Rondo/AD on there road to a ring and he's continuing his rehab with the Lakers

Front office didn't do him dirty so I fail to see why they'd be upset about it

Damn :(

I feel like the lakers found out that Demarcus cousins injury was gonna lead him to being out for even longer than expected so they didn’t see the point in keeping him. This might’ve ended his career to be honest.
